Butterfly Posted January 5, 2004 Posted January 5, 2004 This should be interesting to know where some of the posters are on the political scale !!! if they dare to take it http://www.politicalcompass.org/ Butterfly: Economic Left/Right: -6.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.95 Something between Ghandy and the Dailama Another controversial topic
SoCal Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Bitterfly, I did your test, and (if memory serves) your numbers on the scale were more representative of Charles Manson (no moral center), and Joseph Stalin (communist). Just joking, but I know Ghandi, and you're no Ghandi. Don't let your hand cramp, slapping yourself on the back. FYI, my numbers: Economic Left/Right: -0.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.67 So much for your grandiose theories about me being a righty. Just have no affection for senseless, bungling fools irrationaly trashing my country. SoCal
Membrane Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Here's mine: Economic Left/Right: -2.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.77 ...Somewhere between Ghandy and the Dailama. What?--In the same boat as Butterfly?? The machine must be broken!!
Pablo H Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Economic Left/Right: -3.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.15 Very interesting
JoeLloyd Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Economic Left/Right: 4.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.51
Pink Mist Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Just call me Mahatma Economic left/right -4.25 Social libertarian/authoritarian -1.18 I dont like these Questionaires where there is no middle ground neither agree or disagree, you are forced to choose an option which isn't your exact opinion. I guess it forse the results into one of the quadrants.
dr_Pat_Pong Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 A bit like referenda Broco. They pose the questions so as to get the outcome that they hope to get.
Pink Mist Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Yes most of the ones we get at work have at least 5 options with a middle ground. Did you take it ? and if so are you keeping that air of mystery still.
Thaiquila Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Another Dalai Lama type guy. Libertarian Left. Maybe Thailand attracts a lot of us. These numbers sound a little extreme. Maybe there is some medication to bring them closer to mainstream metrics. Something like Leftitor, Conforma, Bushian, etc. Economic Left/Right: -5.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.85
dr_Pat_Pong Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 I got interrupted part way through and am uninspired to revisit it. I suspect Genghis Kahn and I have a lot in common.

Butterfly Posted January 6, 2004 Author Posted January 6, 2004 Here's mine:Economic Left/Right: -2.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.77 ...Somewhere between Ghandy and the Dailama. What?--In the same boat as Butterfly?? The machine must be broken!! I think it is. You are correct. There is no way you could score so close to the center. You should be right below Sharon and Bush. I think you cheated on some of those questions Please, tell us how you really feel, we want to know !!!! And I am not Ghandi for sure, did you figure that out all by yourself ?
Butterfly Posted January 6, 2004 Author Posted January 6, 2004 Hey Membrane & Co. do you think you fit in that definition of the NeoCons ? it would be interesting to know. Your comments would be appreciated if you do believe in that definition or what you feel is not part of that definition I like the contradictions between "free markets" and the corporate welfare in the NeoCons agenda. A Word about Neo-cons and Neo-libs U.S.neo-conservatives, with their commitment to high military spending and the global assertion of national values, tend to be more authoritarian than hard right. By contrast, neo-liberals, opposed to such moral leadership and, more especially, the ensuing demands on the tax payer, belong to a further right but less authoritarian region. Paradoxically, the "free market", in neo-con parlance, also allows for the large-scale subsidy of the military-industrial complex, a considerable degree of corporate welfare, and protectionism when deemed in the national interest. These are viewed by neo-libs as impediments to the unfettered market forces that they champion.
Georgie-Porgie Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Maybe you should call it, "The Butterfly Pit". Close it down!
