hi' all

I was looking for a software that allow me to transform vcd, dvd, or else to anything alse, dvd, vcd, divx ...

I tried a few, dvd2svcd, easyvcd, tempgenc+, easy divx ...

well, easy divx, is still the best to make divx, but I found a pearl !

MPEG4 Direct maker, now in version 4 :o

Download MPEG4 Direct Maker

a real great tool, I turn a vcd into divx in less then 20mn ... (1 CD)

and this morning, I tried from dvd to vcd, same speed, and efficient too :D

so, you can turn any video on cd or dvd in any format you want, isn't it great?

and it's not this expensive ...

and for the one who don't want to pay, you can always find a "little+" somewhere.

give it a try, it's a plaesure to use it :D

Hi Bronco, I use Gordian Knot for most video conversion stuff...this basically consists of most freeware modules brought together in one package(DVD2AVI is one part of it)

I just finished putting all my music DVD's on harddisk, but ended up keeping everything in the original VOB format (MPEG2 as used on DVD) since big hard disks are not that expensive anymore! Every bit of quality matters to me since I use my pc connected to an LCD projector, and everything shows on the big screen!

Whenever I put something on CD I use DIVX....

thanks for the link Monty, nice place :D

and yes freeware are a lot .. the best I tried was dvd2svcd along with tmpegenc,

but so slow ... terrific :D

as for easy divx .. nice and easy but so slow ....

and sure anytime I need cd .. I go for divx too :o

the rest stay on dvd ...

mpeg4 direct-maker .. can be very cheap :D

sorry, I forgot to say that I use a dvd ripper before encoding ...

it's a freeware and works fast :o

it's called DVD Decrypter DVD Decrypter

useless to be obliged to buy or to crack software like dvdregion-free or dvdxghost,

it does the job nicely :D

and then you work from the HD which faster :D

anyone has tip about why ms.media-player crash on dvd?

mainly in changing chapter ...?
