Hope Thai Immigration maybe reads this:

Being slightly disabled and on crutches after slipping on wet tiles, my kind Thai SIL and BIL drove me the 230k to

Thali Ban checkpoint (S Thailand) to do my 90 day'er.

Arrived at border and hobbled over to check out..wife submitted her passport so she could shadow me across no mans land to Malaysian immigration. The officer says go fill in form..so off she went to another booth...she was overtaken by "big boss" immigration guy who says ....no no just walk with your husband ..okay no checking out in..!

So checked in and out of Malaysia and was gimping back to Thailand when SIL and BIL met us halfway saying that Thai immigration told them to go get the truck to transport me.. it would be okay....well I was halfway back so just continued the few yards to Thai immigration.

I went to get the Imm form when the boss comes out saying NO stay there ( at forms booth)..Comes over with form and commences to fill it out for me and then has me sign it. Again "stay there"..goes back into the immigration office with my passport and comes out a minute later "all okay"...I thanked him, shook his hand ..says "your welcome" and disappears.....

another great day in Thailand...many thanks to all....

Makes a nice balance to all the gripes heard here about immigration. Personally, I find them always as helpful as they can be, considering their workload.

A great story - sadly outnumbered by a few of the horror stories - but nevertheless the immigration officer should be applauded for his considerate (and common-sense) manner in dealing with the situation.
