Thaddeus Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 What's with this guys and casinos? Experience?
tragickingdom Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I suppose we do not need Chuwit to expose the corrupt police and army officers running Dens and other illegal operations throughout the country. I could expose myself a handful without even waking up.
Thai at Heart Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Only in Thailand could the former largest massage parlour owner, become a parliamentary beacon for anti-corruption He must be loving every minute of making these guys squirm, or maybe he has found God.
ratcatcher Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Which island beside Samui have airport ? PHUKET.
rogerdee123 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Which island beside Samui have airport ? Well there is always Phuket.

ThaiSold Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 There is a gambling den right across the road from me (in chiang mai) police regularily frequent, probably because they got held up last month with some dudes with guns don't know exact amount taken but none the less good to know the police are keeping a good eye on them and making sure there now protected. One night a truckload of army guys called in was all very strange they were up and down the road talking on walkie talkies and such, they soon left though. I don't care you know why, because Thai people have no self control if they make gambling legal it will be out of control. The only way to make legal gambling work is if they also get rid of the illegal gambling. They can't even do that with the lottery how could they do it with casinos. More money is spent on the undreground lottery than is spend on the state run lottery and why is that, because Thai's don't look to win the million baht they are trying to win 2000 baht. Imagine they had scratchies here, kids would go hungry.

jalansanitwong Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Chuwit is getting rid of all the opposition so he has a monopoly on gambling and prostitution ! amazing thailand
ricku Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Chuwit is getting rid of all the opposition so he has a monopoly on gambling and prostitution ! amazing thailand Thats not it. Chuwit really has a genuine will to fight the corruption. I don't know if he is doing it for revenge or for a newfound sense of righteousness, but he is putting his life on the line to do it. Just think how many corrupt police officers and officials that would love to have Chuvit "removed". Perhaps not to the police in your area, but surely there must be some uncorrupted police in Chang Mai? Firstly I live accross the road from these people, how stupid do you think I am to call the cops on them. Chiang Mai is a very small place mate. This goes beyond the local cops man it's all the way up the government and the richest people in Thailand. If you think gambling dens in Thailand are people sitting around playing cards then you have no idea. The fact is there are 10's of thousands of shops in thailand called ร้านการพนันออนไลน์ loosly translated is Online gambling shop. Yes online gambling in Thailand is illegal they make it difficult to watch porn online but you can go to sites like xxx and xxx and transfer funds and gamble online, the shop houses exist to protect the patrons. If the cops come they pull the plug and it's an internet cafe yeah? the shop house handles the transactions with the websites and really don't have to pay much in bribes to the police compared to what they make. The websites are registered offshore and can't be shutdown by the Thai's wouldn't matter anyway they'd just change the domain or ip anyway. All the banks in Thailand are involved and don't do anything about it. This whole thing about the gambling den and Chuwit is to make sure the truth about gambling in Thailand is kept out of the press. The biggest gambling in Thailand these days is done online. There was a bust a few years ago an Indian guy who did 3.2 billion baht through his websites involving thousands of bank accounts and such. I suspect the truth is a rival in the industry probably Thai sought him out to take over and that's why these other sites sprung up in fact 3n2.net was registered just after the bust and closure of those other sites. That's just how it works here my friend, no local cop can stop it man only the banks working with the government can. Edited September 29, 2011 by thaiphoon URL's removed. You said it yourself, gambling is illegal in Thailand. Read the forum rules before posting.

Perhaps not to the police in your area, but surely there must be some uncorrupted police in Chang Mai? Of course there are but are they going to buck the majority - simple answer NO !! Several in Khon Kaen plus a 24 hour online gambling house (which reportedly cost the operator 100000 a month to stay open) if you doubt this then speak to the farangs whose ladies have become engrossed and mortaged cars, land, houses.
edwardandtubs Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Why would anyone need an online gambling house when the big international online gambling websites can be accessed in Thailand from the comfort of your own home?
lannarebirth Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Why would anyone need an online gambling house when the big international online gambling websites can be accessed in Thailand from the comfort of your own home? Thai language. Remember that's why education, especially English language education is frowned upon here. It keeps the marks natives captive to local exploitation.
Roota Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Finally someone with morals in Thai guvment Beating his wife, bribing the cops, bulldozing the vendors off Sukhumwit Square, and cheerfully admitting to it all . . . yep, sounds pretty moral to me.
ThaiSold Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Why would anyone need an online gambling house when the big international online gambling websites can be accessed in Thailand from the comfort of your own home? The gambling houses also act as bookies on games which is where most of the funds go, you can make up your own odds against different teams in all different sports though football is most popular but they use the internet to service those. Besides the old lady isn't there to hassle you while you place bets.
TheWalkingMan Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Why would anyone need an online gambling house when the big international online gambling websites can be accessed in Thailand from the comfort of your own home? I ran that <snip> site though the google translator and one section does recommend gambling from home instead of coming to the location. They suggested that you get a 2ghz computer and log in. I would not be surprised if eventually the offshore gambling companies do not set up their own Thai language sites in the future. Edited September 30, 2011 by craigt3365 removed reference to gambling site

Richard4849 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 It's sad that some people apparently think that Chuwit is really an anti-corruption crusader. More likely, he's trying to deflect attention from the brothels he owns.

If he owned the land at Sukhumvit Square and told people to get off his land and they wouldn't...i would have bull dozed it too. Where did you hear of the wife beating? Bribing cops? ehhh TIT...
asiascharlie Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Ekamai soi 30 has many casinos run by a ex muaythai fighter . The Thonglor police are payed monthly for them .
