pmsl at this thread after all the SH1T+E posted about Chuwit 'throwing softballs' to the Thaksinistas on the first casino exposure thread. Song's changed. Change the tune. No probs, done.

Young master Simon, it may be me, but I only expect this type of cryptic message if someone twitters, tweets or uses some inferior input device rather than a nice, solid keyboard. It maybe I'm just too old-fashioned.

What I'm trying to say here is, please write things in full. It probably also helps us mere mortals who haven't English as native language ;)

Uncle Rubl, go back and read what was being said by certain posters in the first casino exposure thread. Then compare and contrast the posts in the second casino exposure thread. And this one. All, of course, if you can be bothered. If you can't, don't plead ignorance with me.

Young master Simon, why should I look at some other topics. Call me simple if you want (don't you dare, young man!) but my comment was on a reply in this topic. To make it easier, the OP said "By the time the case reached the judicial review, Ho Pacific and its subsidiaries had Bt3.4 million left in various bank accounts." This suggests to me that the THB 3.4M confiscated are from the company rather than k. Chuwit. Also the wording 'by the time ...' does somehow suggest the company might have used the time in-between to 'minimise' the cash remaining.

Now, all this written in full without even mentioning illegal casinos. How's that for 'clear language' my dear youngster :)

Maybe it's just me, but I find it a tad ironic that the links above the main article are:

Bangkok Girls - Phuket Girls - Girls from Thailand - Bangkok Massage

It is also interesting that one politician is being nailed for being directly involved in the sex industry, when if you take that stance then ALL politicians are also guilty by virtue of their complicity. Or they can't read the figures regarding foreign exchange earnings derived from that industry?

Court seizes Bt3.4m from Chuwit over prostitution ring

The Nation

30166506-01.jpg

The Supreme Court yesterday ruled to seize Bt3.4 million from Rak Prathet Thai MP Chuwit Kamolvisit in connection to his suspected involvement in a prostitution ring.

Since this verdict is based on civil proceedings under the money laundering law, it will not have an impact on Chuwit's political office.

Though the lower court and the subsequent appellate review ruled in Chuwit's favour by citing his acquittal in the criminal proceedings, the high court said that under the money laundering law, the defence had the burden of proof but had failed to verify how the assets in question were amassed.

The case came to light after the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation, a women advocacy group, filed a police complaint charging that the massage parlours operated by Chuwit were a front for sex trade.

The prosecution launched separate criminal and civil proceedings against Chuwit and his holding company, Ho Pacific, which operates a number of massage parlours. The company and its subsidiaries only had Bt3.4 million left in assets by the time the case reached the court.

Some of the defence team's key arguments are that operating a massage parlour is legitimate business, that providing massage services cannot be construed as an illicit sex trade and that the suspect had been acquitted in the criminal trial.

However, the high court ruled that there was cause to suspect the massage parlours were a front for sex trade because the company's records show that it spent Bt112,559 on condoms in 2002 alone. Also, a number of former workers testified that they were coerced to provide sexual services. Furthermore a large number of used condoms were found at various parlours run by Chuwit.

Under the verdict, the court said it had cause to suspect that the gains had been earned illegally and hence warranted seizure. The defence, so far, has not been able to prove how the assets came into its possession.

If "suspected involvement" now warrants seizure of assets, I look forward to a plethora of other cases, against most of the recently-elected government, and some of the outgoing one too ! No Double Standards !

Hope & trust that Chuwit continues his campaign against systemic-corruption, and exposes more police & poo-yais, for their links with 'dirty dealings', in-line with Ms Yingluck's policy to 'clean-up' corruption, who better than an expert on soapy-massage !

Chuwit use to work as a door man at a NYC gogo bar....can you imagine that ? LOL

Was that part time when he was studying for his MBA?

He must have commuted then as he did is MBA in the city of San Diego. For those unfamiliar with SanDiego, it is located in southern California on the west coast of the USA. New York City is located in the state of New York on the east coast of the USA. The USA is a big counry and it's about 5 hours flying time ( by commercial jet) between the two cities. :D

Chuwit is innocent. This is a politically motivated act by the Government. :whistling:

NO,.....Chuwit is guilty. This is a politically motivated act by the Government (police), otherwise every massage parlor, A-go-go bar, etc.. would be closed down already! Most, if not all, have police "connections".

How would you like to have been the SID (Scientific Investigation Division) or whatever they call it here officers who had that assignment....

Furthermore a large number of disposed condoms were uncovered at various parlours run by Chuwit.

Were they saving them up for recycling or something??? :ermm:

BTW, 3.4 million baht is chump change.... 34 milllion would hurt a bit more... but probably just a bit for Chuwit...

Great A massage parlor has nothing to do with Sextrade? Common every one knows what Men do when they go in there...

Well I can't vouch for you, but I get a massage at a massage parlor. Just because you're a sex crazed maniac doesn't mean we all are.

Well...at least most of us are.... here in Thailand to be sure... I know that because....I read it here on ThaiVisa....

Part a ) utter balderdash.

Part b ) without a doubt.

So the Supreme Court, the same venerable Institution you were all lauding to the heavens during the Democrat Governments term of office, have in the space of two months suddenly become open to political interference by the PTP?

I think there may be some sarcasm involved in the comment.

Since when does the defence have to prove innocence? I believe in most countries the plantiff has the burden of proof or persuasion. He is guilty in my opinion, but it is odd that apparently Chuwit had the burden of proof in this case.

Not at all. In UK it is exactly the same for tax/money matters. You must prove to IR where you got it or they will assess it for maximum taxes - or confiscate it. Guilty until you prove you're innocent :whistling:

While i think Chuwit is a refreshing change from other politicians, the ends dont justify the means....and it's only because he is now rich that he is trying to come across as a savior. If he wasn't rich he'd still be the common pimp and wouldn't give a rat's ass about anyone. - new money syndrome.

What's all the fuss about Chuvit's past? At least he did not become a MP because of his high-so background! I pay more respect for a politician who had to clean toilets to earn money as a student, than for spoilt brats and rich shit kids.

Already forgot who was Trade Minister in the Abhisit Government? It was Porntiva Nakasai (nomen est omen again?) she ran the ˶Poseidon" Massage Parlor with no less than 500 girls! Anyone cared for her past?

Chuvit is doing a good job. No one can tell this about the former Trade Minister! There was a long article about her family business and „achievements" as a Minister; however, it disappeared from the http://thaiintellige...geting-screwed/ website…

Most MP's do not come from hi-so backgrounds.

Most are first, second, and third generation wealth from business. Many, like Chuwit, got rich from illegal businesses and mafia activity.

No one would care about his background if he weren't going on a personal crusade against the very thing that made him rich.

I agree with you however Porntiva did'nt run the posseidon, her dad has big shares in it, that's about all there is ... but once again its always like this in thailand ... all polititians are involved in shady business one way or another no matter what party they belong to ....
