Visa Run Tomorrow

Hi Guys,

I find the packed buses a pain in the butt... plus air con sucks.

Anyone wishes to put a couple hundred baht towards gas- no hassle. Air con great...music whatever.

Cheaper than packed bus... also bit more time can be spent at market.

Please PM if interested- just a normal sedan. So restricted to 5 people or highly comfortable 4.

PLUS ALL VISA RUN BUSES GET THERE SAME TIME SO HUGE line.... car makes great sense.

Anyway will pickup whomever approx. 10-11am (As VISA RUN guys\girls gone), car takes less than 3 hrs. Be Quick to confirm....thanks

Hot girls free- just joking. Lol. ;)

Cheers JAY

>>), car takes less than 3 hrs.<<

You can only get there in 3 hours by excessive speeding on dangerous roads ,so no thanks .I will send you some flowers for your funeral though .

Not at all, I regularly do it under 3 hours, its a very good road and very wide in most places, so plenty of room to avoid things if need be....would rather drive than put my life in the hands of a someone else and as for the bus! ph34r.gif

3 hours is ok speed- never over the limit. Mostly average approx. 90km to conserve gas. Buses simply to slow on hills and corners plus your life in hands of bus driver and I seen some near corner crashes over the years. Making the whole day into well over an 8-9 hour ordeal.

Anyway looks like no takers for a seat.... Mai Pen Rai.

Petrol only approx. 1000bt up and back now.

Buses suck to me as you on their time table being not even 1 hour in the market. Most time stamping in and out.... waste of a great day.

No time for a good rub and tag- as one guy put it. Or anything else.....

BEST BUYS in Mae Sai 4 my money (Suggestions);

1) Bottle of Vodka and Scotch (Plus JW) in duty free shopping on LEFT as you go over bridge. (Any other look for diamond drill hole at bottom to see it being refilled with crap).

2) Boxes of quality cigs for 300bt each. 60% OFF. Not the piss most sell.... once again only in the duty free is what I would recommend. As they try to supply quality and it known by most long termers. On Left across bridge.

3) A Restuarant overlooking the water on the left- go straight down that street past immigration building and straight on. Amazing platter of hige prawns for 70bt.

4) BLUE RAY DVDs- only from store in Burma market that approx. 6 stores down on right. Only 60-80bt each for BLUE RAY- beat that. Never an issue on big screen. Been buying their DVDs since 2004, now they even better quality copies as straight from BLUE RAY- so the best a DVD disk can do in a DVD player. You will see the difference. 30 bt each- buy bulk for less....

ALSO in the Burma market buy nothing from the hand held vendors- boxes of cigs 150bt or less if you bargain. Yet pure piss..... Also the porn movies that they threw at me for 10 for 100bt (How to resist ;) were all 100% blank. Stupid me.

I am told the viagra sold by them for a tenth of real price does nothing.... thankfully not needed in my early 30s as yet. Old fellas will tell you they are crude. I guess tempting for them when subscription said to be 2000 bt and being offerred for 200... you will only be done once.

Will look if any takers before taking off at approx. 10-11am in the morning. PM or reply, if interested. Guessing most paid for bus by now. I right near inner city and to goto Mae Sai most will know you go through San Sai area up the 118 all the way to Chiang Rai then over to Mae Sai. Not a bad little run.

Cheers JAY

Took the bike up there yesterday. Took the Chiang Dao, Fang route on the way there, which was nice. Chiang Rai on the way back.

Hot up there though, got slightly sunburnt hands and knees!

There's another quite good duty free booze shop. If you go down the steps into the market, go straight ahead and take the first left, it's on the left hand side. Had small cans of Guiness for 55Bht, and small bottles of Hoegaarden for 45Bht. Tables outside for drinking, glasses provided.

Thanks, Jay. I had to go last Wed's, too bad we weren't in sync for the ride. Surprised you didn't have any takers.

Btw, last week they took my $10 bill (rather than 500B) which they weren't doing in January, the last time I made a run there.

And yeah, Dave 2 must be a cyborg with a recording eye. There's just no way somebody would walk around and grab a picture of everything everywhere, is there ? I'm surprised I haven't spotted him around town doing his thing as that camera has got to be glued to his face - if'n he's not a cyborg as I am otherwise alleging.

These 'blurays' that play in a regular DVD player ?? Those are just what DVD's should look like, unlike all the single layer thai recompressed junk ones.

Real bluray is a totally different animal.. Or download the highdef rips.

My guess is it looks like something you might find behind Kam Tieng plant market, on that road with all the pot holes.

i decided to just give a starting point for anyone wanting to find this hall

so its within one and a quarter miles of here

but to get the beer you have to tell me what is to the right of the bar up against the wall : )
