Some areas to run dry this weekend

BANGKOK: The Metropolitan Water Authority says taps will run dry in many areas of Bangkok over the weekend.

The agency announced yesterday water supplies would be switched off for 24 hours from 9pm on Saturday to facilitate repairs to a broken main on Rama IX road.

The affected areas are Romklao road, Chalongkrung road, Chaokhun Thaharn road, Nimitr Mai road, Seehaburanukij road, Suwinthawong road, Hathai Raj road, Samwa road, the new Bangkok-Chon Buri road extension, the Eastern ring road, Onnuch road from Si Nakharin intersection, going out of town; Bang Na-Trat road between kilometre markers 8-35, both sides of Ramkhamhaeng Soi 2, Soi Wat Bangplee Yai, Soi Wat Sriwaree Noi, Kingkaew road, Praeksa road, Ramkhamhaeng road from Lamsalee intersection to Min Buri, the old Sukhumvit road from kilometre marker 37 to Klong Dan, Panvithee road to Klong Dan, Rattanaratch road,Theparak road from kilometre marker 12 onwards, Bang Bor road and the Klong Dan area.
