Bus From Mohchit To Korat? Any Disturbances Due To Flood? Recommendations?

Last time I took a bus to korat from morchit it took 5 hours because of all the customer pick ups and drops.

Is there a specific bus service that runs with just a few stops? What are the timings?

Also is there a disturbance due to the flood? Im arriving tomorrow (13th october) around 12.30 pm.

There are two main bus stations in Korat. The new bus station is the larger of the two and is just to the north of the city centre, beyond Big C on the Korat to Khon Kaen stretch of Mittraphap Road. The old bus station is within the city centre on Burin Road between Suranaree Road and Mittraphap.

At Morchit Northern/Northeastern Bus Terminal, go to the top floor of the terminal building and buy your ticket at window 40, 49, 50, 52 or 53.

Window 40 and 49 - Ratchasima Tour. Direct 24 hour service. Window 40 for the old bus station and window 49 for the new bus station.

Window 50 - Suranaree Air. Tickets for services to either station are sold at the same window. Confusingly, there are two windows #50 at Morchit (50 and 50ก). The one you need is on the left of the two.

Windows 52 and 53 - Air Korat Pattana. Window 52 for buses to the new bus station and window 53 for buses to the old bus station. It's been known for the vendor to just sell a ticket for the next departing service. If you really want to go to the old bus station ("bok kor sor gow") make sure you do buy your ticket from the vendor at window 53 and that your ticket has the number 1 on it somewhere. This denotes the old bus station whereas a 2 denotes the new. Journey duration about 3.5 - 4 hours.

There may be some localised highway flooding around Saraburi and Muak Lek but once up over the hills, it should be OK.

Since the Friendship Hwy is shut down in the Wang Noi area, buses have been rerouted via Hwy 305 on the Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road, so expect some heavy delays. Looked pretty grim between Klongs 1-7 yesterday when I was down to Rangsit, came home via the Lam Luk Ka road to Klong 10, then back north to 305.

Reckon they're taking the Ban Na to Khaeng Khoi road to connect back to the Friendship Hwy there 15 km up from Saraburi. Altho some might continue on 33 to Kabin Buri and head north on 304, but haven't seen anything on that routing.

I came back yesterday from Korat., with bus 999 -which is a direct one with no stop- leaving at 2:30pm.

Until Saraburi that was OK, but then after it took us five hours to make the forty kilometers between Saraburi and Rangsit -Future Park- sad.gif

Thanks for the info everyone, especially the detailed info by Nanlaew, it will come in handy next time. This time I decided to not risk it and catch a direct taxi from the airport. It took me 5.30 hrs to get to korat. Didnt notice too much flooding on the alternate route, but traffic was slow.
