If I am applying for a double entry tourist visa (Vientiane) and I have a flight out of the country in 5months and 2 weeks, and they would give me only a single, would the dates of the flight disqualify me because my flight is not within 3 months?

Thanks

I suspect if they were to require flight proof it would be within 90 days of arrival for first flight as that is the max time you can stay on a tourist visa. But have not seen any reporting.

I called the thai embassy about this problem recently , and said i will spend time in Lao to respect my 60 days in thailand as they gave me 2 entries so for them i suppose to stay 4 months..

I got 2 entries and my return flight ticket was 5 months later, 1 month "too late"on paper.(without counting extension or time spent in other south asian countries)

They gave me a 6 months visa, so with 3 entries i could have stayed 9 months.

you can still go to malaysia or lao after your 60 days and come back to thailand to catch your plane with a 15 days visa waiver..

it seems they don't care as long you have a return ticket. These return tickets make everything confused now.

Hi DennyEagle, I'm glad you posted on this. I have been wondering about when I should book my flight out of Thailand. I am going there to apply for a 2X entry tourist visa next month.

Could you please tell us about your visa recent history? What types of visas have you had for Thailand and when and where did you get them?

And also, what other supporting documents did you supply when you applied for the visa?

Oh, and did they refund any of your application fee? I know they don't have to but I also know that it has been done before.

Makes me wonder. Would it be better to show a flight out within 60 days or 90. I know we can apply for another 30 days on a 60 day tourist visa. But can't we also apply for another 7 days on top of the 30 days? So why not show a flight out within 97 days? I know that's pushing it :D. And what if someone was spending a few weeks in Laos before they enter Thailand , why not a flight 100 days later :bah:. Never mind that too. I know too hypothetical.

But seriously, how about a double entry tourist visa? Should I show two tickets out, one 60-90 days later and another ticket out 120-180 days later? Seriously!

Maybe I'm thinking too much, but I am planning this trip in a couple weeks and I want to do everything I can to secure a 2X tourist visa.

So, 1 or 2 tickets out of Thailand??? I will be able to provide a bank statement as well as show cash, copy of lease and house owner's ID and their contact info and copy of house document/registration paper (not sure of the correct of the name). What am I missing besides the normal stuff, passport, photos, fees + application.

I'm American coming to the end of my 3rd consecutive Non-Imm multi visa and will be going back to the US in late April 2012 and I won't be back for a while so a 2x tourist visa would be perfect for me. This will be my 2nd visa from Laos the 1st was a single entry back in 2006. On the other hand I have had several tourist visas from Penang some years ago, the last time I got a red stamp saying not to come back and apply again . Too bad, I liked the food in Penang.
