Is Aa Insure Still In Business?

Hello,

Just wondering if AA Insure is still in business?

Purchased a policy on 20 September 2011.

Still have not received my Hard Copy of the policy.

So I stoped by last week to pick it up but the office was closed with

no message on the door. Figured they were out to lunch.

So I e-mailed... last week and No Reply.

So I e-mailed again this week and still NO Reply.

Then I called and NO Answer.

Just wondering if anyone has information if something is up

or they just went on Vacation and forgot to leave a Message on the

office door.

Thanks.

I too am waiting on a policy card for my health insurance. I'm travelling from tomorrow, and have had no response, and it was shut yesterday when I tried to visit the office...

I also went by there twice last week to look into some travel insurance. Both times a note on the door said something about a staff meeting. They must have very long staff meetings. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in potential customers.

I've always found the best way to communicate with them is through their Chonburi office. They will reply immediately. Also if you need a policy or card or something sent to you, they will send it to you by post.

Peter is the guy who will get things done. He has been there since the very beginning.

Check out things with Gary and you may be in for a surprise. Apparently the company has changed hands and Peter is out of the loop as a partner.

Peter is the guy who will get things done. He has been there since the very beginning.

Check out things with Gary and you may be in for a surprise. Apparently the company has changed hands and Peter is out of the loop as a partner.

I would recommend anyone doing business with them to deal directly with the Chonburi office. Mistakes are often made at the C.M. office and it usually takes many, many weeks to receive policies from them.

Anyone know what happened to Gary ? What is the sate of confidence with AA Insurance now that he's gone ? Anybody speak with the new CM representative yet ?

I use BUPA Blue Cross but am thinking of some comparison shopping as my policy comes up for renewal next month.

I use BUPA Blue Cross but am thinking of some comparison shopping as my policy comes up for renewal next month.

AA is still open for business and the new office manager speaks good English.

I don't know the details but there has been some kind of shake up in the ownership or management resulting in the changes reported here. I went along to the office last week and picked up the paperwork on an existing policy and they had it waiting for me with no problems.

Gary has moved to a new company called Chiang Mai Insurance - take the spaces out of the name and put a dot com after for their website.

As an aside, why is it that so many people who run businesses largely dependent on confidence and stability don't think to manage change in any kind of sensitive way? A simple email to existing customers and an announcement on this forum would have prevented any discussion of closure - who wants to deal with a company where the office closes without explanation?

As I have a policy coming up for renewal, I e-mailed Peter this morning on the form provided on their web site. He responded immediately, saying that a new person is being recruited (no mention of office manager - perhaps he thought that obvious). Anyway, he says the it's business as usual, although one employee has gone elsewhere.

Since I hold two policies for motorized two-wheelers, plus the car, it's good to know that there will be an agent in town to call if an accident happens.

Why didn't Gary, who pocketed the commission, email or call his clients? Totally unprofessional. :( And he probably expects those clients to come running to him in his new chair.

Meanwhile, I just received a phone call from Aa Insurance regarding one of my vehicle policies here in CM. Discussed it and another - all normal business.

There is a legal notice in The Chiang Mai Post (Dec. 16- 31 issue) that Gary Newitt is no longer representing them and that they are taking legal action against him for theft of clients insurance premiums. They have filed charges with the police.

In a harrowing incident that has shaken the community of Phayakkhaphum Phisai district in Maha Sarakham province, a 41-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal murder of his 84-year-old father. The body, found in a septic tank behind the family home, had been concealed for three days. The discovery was made on the afternoon of 13 May after Mr Thongsai, the elder son of the deceased, noticed a swarm of flies near the septic tank while preparing to take a tractor out to the fields. Upon closer inspection, he made the gruesome discovery of his father’s body and immediately alerted the police. According to Pol. Col. Chatchai Maiwanta, superintendent of Phayakkhaphum Phisai Police Station, officers arrived promptly and detained the suspect, Mr Sombat, who was found inside the house in an intoxicated and incoherent state. A long-barrel shotgun and a curved blade believed to be the murder weapon were recovered from the scene. Preliminary questioning revealed that Mr Sombat admitted to killing his father, Mr Boonram, following a heated argument. The dispute is believed to have stemmed from a confrontation over Mr Sombat’s refusal to assist with ploughing the fields. Enraged, he allegedly attacked his father with the curved blade, severing his right hand, a wound thought to have been inflicted as the elderly man tried to defend himself, before repeatedly striking him, causing fatal injuries to the face and body. After the murder, Mr Sombat is believed to have waited until nightfall before dragging the body to the rear of the property and disposing of it in the septic tank. Police have charged him with murder of a parent and concealment of a corpse. Relatives have since revealed that Mr Sombat had a long history of drug use and mental illness, and had previously undergone psychiatric treatment. He was known to have violent outbursts when off his medication and frequently quarrelled with both parents. Despite the family’s fears, no one expected the situation to escalate to such horrific violence. Mr Thongsai, the victim’s elder son, recounted that the father had asked Mr Sombat to help with ploughing but was refused. When Mr Sombat also withheld the tractor keys, Mr Thongsai had duplicate keys made and hired outside help to complete the job. Days later, after their father went missing and suspicions grew, the family launched a search, only to finally discover the body in the septic tank. Bloodstains marked the bedroom where the attack took place and the septic tank, just metres away from the living quarters, now serves as a haunting reminder of the incident. Despite claiming confusion over the incident, Mr Sombat did admit to reporters, “It’s happened a few times. He tried to hurt me… I don’t know what to say. After I slashed him, I put him in the septic tank. I’ve never used drugs. I didn’t think it would end like this. I do feel guilty.” Authorities continue to investigate the case, and the community has called for the justice system to pursue the matter to its fullest extent. The incident occurred on 14 May at the Phatang Forest Protection Unit, located within the Doi Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary. Officers from Chiang Dao Police Station responded to reports of a shooting at the ranger station following an emergency call from the site’s radio unit. Two people were injured in the incident: Mr. Pichet, 39, head of the Phatang unit, was shot in the left shin, while Mr. Chawalit, 40, another ranger, was shot in the foot and toes. Both were quickly rushed to Chiang Dao Hospital by colleagues. The suspected gunman, Mr. Sathaporn 36, was found at the scene in a dazed, incoherent state, armed and attempting to flee into the forest. Police attempted to approach and subdue him, but when he raised his weapon in resistance, officers shot him once in the side in self-defence. The bullet passed through his torso, and he was immediately taken to Chiang Dao Hospital for treatment. Initial investigations revealed that Mr. Sathaporn had returned from a night patrol earlier that morning and was later seen consuming alcohol at the checkpoint shelter. When other officers arrived for duty handover, they noticed him drinking but did not intervene. Without warning, Mr. Sathaporn allegedly pulled out his pistol and began firing at his colleagues, approximately six or seven shot, striking two people. Witnesses said he appeared drunk and muttered to himself before opening fire. As others scrambled for cover, the gunman stayed at the scene, showing no intent to escape. Police have seized the weapon and ammunition used in the shooting and are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motive behind the attack. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-05-15.
