Ladprao Flooding - Rumor Or Reality?

Featured Replies

I know there's a warning out for Chatujak and other areas for tonight, but there's rumors going around my neighborhood that areas down Ladprao Rd. past Klong Ladprao (Chokchai 4, Nakniwat, Ladprao-Wanghin, Klong Chan, Bangkapi) were announced on some news channel as being in danger of flooding tonight as well.

I can't find any reference to these areas being under threat tonight and was wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding this or if this is someone's misunderstanding that these areas are part of Chatujak district, which they aren't. Chatujak ends at Klong Ladprao. Ladprao district extends from Klong Ladprao to the Chalongrat Expressway, and from there is Klong Chan and Bangkapi.

Can anyone verify if these areas were announced as under an immediate threat or is it just my neighbors being paranoid?

Seems a rumour, however the Bang Kapi side of Ladprao could have some issues. But Ratchada / Ladprao junction up to Chokchai 4 is dry as a bone.

Oh yeah, I can confirm it IS dry at the moment. The entire length of Ladprao from Central to Bangkapi is dry. What I'm trying to find out is if there was an announcement on some Thai channel that it's going to change tonight. It's difficult to figure out what the hell is going on with this thing with every single official involved giving a different story. Wish the bastards would get the heads together and just tell people the way it really is. That and put people in charge who are experienced and qualified and know how to deal with this kind of thing. TiT as usual I guess.

We have been following the news every hour and I have not heard / seen anything that says it will flood tonight.

Alright thanks. If anyone hears anything of the sort, please let us know. I know quite a few foreigners in that area (including myself), several of us with homes to protect, and any info regarding it is much appreciated.

Ladprao is still dry .

I am living in Ladprao so I am checking every hour what the situation is.

This morning one of my colleagues went out to drive around and to see where the flood water was in Ladprao but found nothing. First flood water was found around 10km away from my location in Ladprao so no urgency yet but obviously that can change rapidly.

Will keep you updated if I have more info.
