Thaksin To Definitely Return In December: Kwanchai

webfact

Recommended Posts

I have just read that a secret meeting was held in parliament to pass a bill for amnesty for people with up to 3 years sentence. If this is passed that will mean Thaksin will not do any time in prison and will return to thailand a free man. I told you so, remember (I'LL BE BACK) :D

Well, it appears Kwanchai was probably correct, according to the "other paper" this morning and the leading line in this OP. "Kwanchai Priaphana, the chairman of Udon Thani Loving Club, said former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra would return to Thailand in December." The Cabinet has "rammed" through a Royal Decree, during a secret meeting, that is designed for him to return in time for his daughter's wedding, if approved by HRM. Thank you DPM Chalerm for your diligence in taking care of the Thai people during this time of crisis.

Prime Minister Yingluck didn't attend her own Cabinet meeting and then later plead innocent to knowing anything about the Pheu Thai movement to whitewash her brother's crimes. :bah:

Additionally, the infamous Science Minister Plodprasop, who had earlier pledged transparency, said the Cabinet meeting business was secret and thus he was unable to discuss it. :bah:

Lastly, Chalerm, who chaired the Cabinet meeting, refused to discuss the matter with the press. :bah:

.

Don't be harsh on the poor girl. She couldn't return to Bangkok from Sing Buri at night time because she thought the helicopters didn't have radar for night flights. No one dared tell her that they did in fact have radar. :whistling:

Only yesterday I said to my friends "The countdown has begun. About 20 days to go"

They immediately said "what until Thaksin returns??"

I think it's inevitable.

She also avoided the reality that she was only in Singburi, just 142 kilometers away, and could have easily used ground transportation to attend her own Cabinet meeting, even if her helicopter was actually not able to fly. :bah:

A minister who asked not to be named confirmed Cabinet discussed requests for an amnesty for 26,000 convicts on the occasion of His Majesty the King's birthday on December 5.

Other ministers declined to elaborate on the issue when they were contacted by phone or approached Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi said the meeting was a secret and he could not discuss it.

If there is truth in the reports, the plan would undermine or contradict virtually every public comment Khun Yingluck has made about her brother and his status as a fugitive since she became Prime Minister.

With her non-attendance and professed ignorance of her own Cabinet meeting's contentious proceedings providing negligible ability for denial. ;)

I guess the Police will be ready to arrest Thakky at the airport, maybe one night in a comfortable police location, a hastily arranged court hearing the next day, bailed to appear at some later date, off to some secret location with his armed bodyguards, Politcs comes into play, amnesty , and thats the end of it for a convicted criminal who refused to return for 2 or 3 years previously,

Then of course the "fun" begins,,,what happens in Thailand with opposing forces could be quite frightening.

Due to the failure of the defendant to comply with and subsequently secure an

Individual Royal Pardon

Individual Royal Pardon is granted as a matter of routine procedure. Any convicted prisoner or a concerned person wishing to petition his Majesty the King praying for pardon may do so by submitting such petition through official channel. However, whether or not the pardon is granted shall be subject to the King's discretion based on the recommendation submitted by the Minister of Justice.

Who can submit a petition?

- Convicted prisoners

- Parents, offspring, and spouse

Department of Corrections

the Cabinet, minus Yingluck of course, is attempting to secure a

Collective Royal Pardon

According to section 261 bis. of the Criminal Procedure Code, the cabinet may submit to his Majesty the King a recommendation for the granting of a pardon. In so doing, the cabinet will prepare the draft of the royal pardon decree and propose to his Majesty the King for promulgation. All the procedure is taken by the authority, without requiring any actions of the prisoners.

He will show up on the 4th, be arrested to become an "offical" prisoner and on the 5th he will be pardoned because he is over 50, has been sentenced to less than three years and has spent time in jail - one night.

A post and replies with reference to HM the King have been removed. Speculation, comments and discussion of either a political or personal nature are not allowed when discussing HM The King or the Royal family.

An inflammatory post has been removed as well.

Reading all the overseas news and all the news from Thailand, I reckon it's too late for any pumps and too late for Bangkok. In case people have not been through floods, take a look at the floods in Brisbane Australia. People stayed and died, the water is unforgiving and killed those that took the risk. It also killed a lot that had no warning of the impending disaster. However that is not the case here, you have already been warned, get out of the way of the floods before they hit, there is a lot more water coming according to the Thai government.

Now there's an untrustworthy source for information.

Seems the news was Not so untrustworthy after all.:whistling:

I think it said convicts who are at least 60, not 50. So Thaksin will be eligible under the new amnesty, as he is 62. ;)

He also under the new amnesty does NOT have to serve anytime.:D

The Democrats when they were in power issued an amnesty that a person who was convicted for corruption was not eligible for the amnesty.

This new amnesty does provide for convicted persons of corruption to be eligible for the amnesty :jap:

There are a lot of legal issues on this amnesty that are in question. However, at the end of the day, it is a Royal pardon and if HM the King signs off on it, it will be a signal that its time to move on. If he refuses, then back to the courts.

It won't be just the courts this time.

The PTP Reds Thaksinistas have actively set the stage for rage to explode, where it goes, is a crapshoot to guess about.

Returning to the purpose of the thread of Thaksin "definitely" returning in December, his daughter, Pinthongta, had her formal engagement ceremony today in Bangkok.

She is going to marry Natthapong Kunakornwong and they partied at the 5-star Park Nai Lert hotel, which was a recent change as Thaksin's house is flooded.

The soon-to-be bride's aunt, PM Yingluck, did not attended.

The wedding ceremony is scheduled for December 12th at a different 5-star hotel, the Plaza Athenee hotel.

Anyway, while I wait, here's Pinthongta at her engagement ceremony with brother, Oak, filling in and fulfilling the absent father's role to receive the prospective suitor:

Say, it's wedded bliss day! Congratulations !

Festivities at 9:00PM at the Plaza Athenee.

Watch for mysterious rooftop helicopters than disappear quickly and never land in Thailand again.

I wonder if this topic-line 'definitely return in December' is on the same level of success-rate as 'definitely fix traffic situation in Bangkok in 6 months' or 'definitely will rid the Kingdom of drugs in 1 year' and other nonsense the Thaksin-camp has put out over the years?

Thaksin didn't make it to yesterday's nuptials.... :(

Who is the guy on the right? And where is Panthongtae and his sunglasses? :whistling:

Panthongtae (Oaf) is on the far right.

In this other photo, minus her Imelda Marcos hair-do and about 30 kilograms of body weight, Potjaman is practically unrecognizable....

The absent-from-the-first-of-his-offspring's-marriage father's heartfelt video message to the wedding.

* tissue alert * :(

You would have thought that they could have delayed the wedding until early next year when Thaksin will fly in with his new passport. How selfish of them.

Article in today's other paper has Kwanchai expressing his plan to bring Thaksin home via the Friendship Bridge with Laos at Nong Khai.

He would be met on the Thai side by thousands of Red Shirts who would first take him to a prepared stage for a speech, followed by a traditional Bai Sri Soo Kwan ceremony and then escorted to Kwanchai's Udon Thani for the night.

The next day, the thousands of Red Shirts would escort him to the police station to report in.

I heard this on the news this morning, I really can't decide as to who talks more nonsense, Jatupon or Kwanchai.
