Pattaya’s number plates are missing

PATTAYA: -- As the pictures accompanying this item show, the streets of Pattaya are increasingly filled with motor vehicles and motorbikes with missing number plates. These pictures were taken at different places and on different days, and we could easily have captured another 20 or 30 more vehicles without their registration plates attached.

Unconfirmed reports suggest anyone involved in an accident, where the offending vehicle flees the scene, a nit uncommon occurrence in Thailand, can still claim on insurance as long as they can supply the number plate details of the other vehicle. Naturally, if a vehicle is not displaying plates, it’s going to make it difficult to identify and catch the said owner/driver.
