Thai Car Manufacturers Off Flood Relief Campaigns

Over the past couple of weeks, several Thai car manufacturers have announced flood relief measures - here's a quick overview:

Chevrolet:

  • 30% discount on parts for flood effected vehicles, valid until the end of October (presumably, this offer will be extended)

Ford:

  • 30% discount on spare parts to flood effected customers until November 15th
  • Donated 5 Rangers and Everests to assist with flood relief.
  • Donated 1,000,000 Baht to the Red Cross to assist with flood relief.

Honda:

  • Donated 100,000,000 Baht (100M Baht) cash to the Thai Red Cross for flood relief
  • Donated 7,000,000 Baht worth of supplies (pumps, boat engines, tents, sleeping bags etc) to the flood releif effort.

Hyundai:

  • Up to 35% discount on spare parts for flood effected vehicles, until the end of the year
  • 50% discount on all labor for flood effected vehicles, until the end of the year
  • Donated 1,594,894.25 Baht to the flood relief efforts

Mitsubishi:

  • 20% discount on both labor and parts for flood effected vehicles, valid untl the end of the year

Nissan:

  • 30% discount on spare parts for flood effected cars (expiry of offer not stated)
  • Have donated in total 4,600,000 Baht to flood relief

Toyota:

  • 30% discount on parts for flood effected vehicles
  • Donated 2,000,000 Baht to Family News
  • Donated 2,000,00 Baht to the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation
  • Donated 2,000,000 Baht the to Thai Red Cross
  • Donated 2,000,000 Baht to the gov't
  • Donated 2,600,000 Baht worth of sand bags
  • Donated 500,000 Baht of emergency provisions
  • Donated engineering teams to help devise water drainage plans

Volvo:

  • Free inspections for flood effected Volvo's
  • 30-50% discount on spare parts for flood effected Volvo's, valid until the end of the year

Good on Honda for donating 100M. That's not chump change!

What's with the donation from Hyundai? Looks like the whipped around the hat at their service centers lol , Unusual figure...

Yeah, good trump by Honda ;)

Hyundai did a fundraising drive - it wasn't all out of their corporate pocket, so to speak.

I know it sounds calculated, and it is! Big corporations often only give a small amount in the first round until they see who the major donour is......then they discover someone in accounting left of a zero or 2. And the second cheque is much bigger. Honda is not playing fair!
