Ah yes..........the day the Brits burn a Catholic in effigy.

Only a couple of hundred years out of date there, it is now an effigy of some personality usually a footballer or politician.

Not at all. As kids we would drag around an effigy on a cart and ask strangers for money with a cheery "Penny for the Guy, mister?", meaning Guy Fawkes.

We would then spend the money on fireworks (yes, it was a while ago).
