Dogs To Beach

My mom want to take her dog to a beach, it's been a long time he hasn't been running and swimming, the look on his face while swimming and playing ball catch on beach is really amazing, i can tell how enjoying he was. Last time, a long long time ago, i took my mom and her labrador to NaiHarn beach, people told us that dogs weren't allowed there at the afternoon, but are allowed only at morning time or something, i could't remember.

Anyone has any advice of which beach to go to for my happy dog day? The weather is so nice, sometimes it's a bit too hot, our dogs would love to dip in a beach and get him to exercise for a long run, he's been getting too fat now.

No one enforces the law at Nai Harn, yesterday saw some Thais with their Golden on the beach, 2:00pm. Also, I think where the lagoon meets the sea there it's quite alright.

Also, there are plenty of other places where people won't care (Rawai Beach, Yannui), take your dogs to the water, have some fun.

Good idea to take some Poop bags with you so other people do not have to step in it

and keep your dog under control so it is not annoying other people

There are no special dog beaches here like there are in other countries

my Thai friend takes her Goldens to Naiharn most mornings, never a problem, but afternoons are too hot so i don't think she goes then. (probably the person the other poster mentioned).

with so many soi dogs at the beach, i can't imagine anyone would object to a well behaved supervised dog at any time.

just be aware that the beach soi dogs are territorial and can be aggressive (i've had problems at thai beaches with my little 8 kg dog, sometimes having to carry her), so you might be prepared if a fight happens.

I've had this same problem at Nai Harn beach the local dogs giving my little mutt a hard time for walking through there turf...

most times i just keep walking and with a sniff off the balls and the bum (the dog that is) we go on our way but i do carry a walking stick (same as when we walk on the road) just in case the stray dogs get too frisky whap on the head and they leave my dog alone.

If anybody try to tell me dog hours at the beach I say pai loy you not own the beach my dog not bother anybody now piss off ...

Please to all that take their dogs to the beach, pick up your dog poop. I see it all over the place. And if they cannot control themselves, and run up on people while they are lying under their umbrella, you might consider investing in some obedience classes before taking them on a "public" beach.

Private dog owners should be responsible for their pets poop. That's all he's saying. It is only a common courtesy to clean up after your pet - after all, the reason you're probably taking them on the beach is to give them exercise and that you don't want your own garden covered in sh1t.

Seeing a young child in tears because they have poop on their body is a horrible thing. It's bad enough when grown-ups get it between their toes.

Just '"do the right thing", that's all we ask of dogowners.

I am on the beach every day, and must say I am much more bothered by crushed glass bottles, plastic garbage, cigarette butts, used condoms and all kind of garbage.

dog poop is washed out by high tide, the rest remains just under the sand surface

nope, but I do keep him on a lead until we reache there, so he doesnt shit where other dogs shit, in peoples driveway

Yes it lies just under the sand where I have contacted a hookworm in my foot, twice now.

Not a very nice experience having a worm growing in your foot.
