Insulated Roofing Panels

Featured Replies

Areas of my property are covered with corrugated "asbestos" sheets. These are very brittle, even when new, and I am becoming inceasingly frustrated by the damage that is caused everytime some one needs to stand on the roofs to gain access to service air conditioners and other similar tasks. I would like to replace this asbestos with some sort of insulated panel, probably metal based, which can withstand minimal foot traffic and keep the rain out!!! To date I have been unable to source any such material in Thailand and would be extremely grateful if someone out there can help.

Use crawling boards any time someone needs access.

Dont know if your current structure could support the weight of heavier(?) tiles/panels/sheets.

Thanks very much, but I have tried crawling boards in the past and they are not the answer. If necessary the addition of more steel rafters will not present a problem

We had similar problems with our asbestos tiles.....so we had them taken off and replaced with a white rolled-steel roof about 4 years ago. It's air tight, reflects the sun, and easily supports someone walking on the roof. We did not have to add any more support for the steel roof......the steel is probably less than half the weight of the old asbestos sheets.

Exactly !!! if you wanted to, you never needed to have the Asbestos taken off, you could of just done what is called in roofing construction an " over-roof ".:)
