Grass Seeds For Malay Grass

Featured Replies

I can buy grass turf of course, but is it possible to buy grass seed for Malay grass? I have a large area to cover and time for it to grow

Thanks

Malaysia grass (axonopus compressus) doesnt generally grow from seed but instead is propagated vegetatively. Basically this means that if you want to grow a large area in over time, buy a small amount of turf, tear it into small pieces of about 2cm (must include a node or root, not only leaf) and plant them at 30-40cm centres. Over time the sprigs will spread and cover the entire area. Depending how long you have you will maybe need to either increase or decrease the centres between the sprigs to ensure appropriate coverage.

Great idea that wish I had thought of it .smile.gif
