With the influx of Bangkok residents and others fleeing the floodwaters in the capital and elsewhere, Pattaya’s Loy Krathong festival is set to be busier than usual. All across the city the bars and restaurants will be packed with women, and some men who like to dress as women, attired in their finest silks and having applied enough make-up to keep Elizabeth Arden in luxury yachts for the next hundred years.
