Chatting With A Thai Girl?

Coppied this ad just today from a local Pattaya community newspaper and thought others may get a laugh [or a cry] from it.

"Thai ladies required: intermediate English minimum to chat live on internet dating site with farangs on behalf of other Thai ladies: 8,000 baht basic salary + bonuses (good chatters make more than 20,000 baht)."

If the chatting does not involve cameras, surely guys can apply too!

Maybe falang guys could apply......could be a fun job, especially if you were in the same room with a webcam girl. Wonder if they offer a work permit??

i purposely didn't mention the name of the newspaper that is published weekly and targets the Pataya community.

i know of two people who do this, one thai lady and one farang man (not a couple or connected)

personally i think its a deceptive service that preys on the lonely hearts

from what they have said about the 'punters'', in the end, it all comes down to money.................

You know what, I bet it DOES involve a camera. Perhaps an ad for one of those live cam porn sites? But they can't put that in a newspaper.

As for ghost writing an e-mail or SMS message, I do that sometimes for lady friends. All they need to do is ask. Only genuine and morally sound communications though, I'm not writing blatant lies. (And to be honest that rarely happens, that I'm asked to write something that's really BS, and I don't recall ever being asked to write something downright scammy.)

Yeah, we got it and they want it and we think that we can buy love....no, you can only rent love on the internet and the bars, but some lonely idiots think it's real. That's sad, but why not make them happy [for a price] if they are gullible enough to belive it??

I expect how one views that kind of thing, is a reflection of your own morals and integrity.........

See:

and four more parts. Pompali, the local "letter writer" is introduced in pt 1 at 1:46. The chat room is just an evolution.

(I've deliberately not embedded the above YT video to help in locating the subsequent parts.)

In fact I've played the Pompali role for a friend of mine who is now married with a baby and living in his country. She would sit at my elbow and dictate the gist, I would compose in my usual flawless English and then 'translate' it into lower intermediate English. I didn't feel there was any significant deception... after all, he wasn't marrying her for her IT skills...cool.gif

Writing loveletters on behalf of others is a timeless art celebrated in many literary works and films. This is just an extension of that. Can't see <deleted> all this moral proselatising on here is all about. Love has often had a deception element added to it

Is it so important whether the eyes are open or closed? To feel you have love in your life is not enough to have some benefit?

The same pitfalls are available worldwide....yet not the figures! laugh.gif

Hey, Mr Timekeeper.....thats a bit unfair !!!... I can assure you that your so called "Lonely Hearts" are just

as likely to be deceptive....many just looking for a cheap Thai girl for they,re holiday rather than

paying Bar prices........or just wanting webcam contact..... It cuts both ways,,,,,...

My wife has been asked to do the same. She doesn't feel that her English skills are up to par but they worked for me but then I had a fair amount of experience translating Tinglish.

I had a lady friend from a bar on Silom Rd years ago.

Recently, out of the blue, I recieve several SMSs. House flooded, kid sick, hospital etc.

I felt sorry for her. When I showed the messages to some of her friends at the bar..they laughed and laughed and laughed....told me it was total BS

Agreed. I have been asked to answer e-mails on behalf of girls in the village and it's quite clear that some of the falangs are running a bevvy of girls. Even had one trying to persuade the Thai girl to give him 'support' to fly out to Thailand

This is true. It cuts both ways. Plenty of foreigners prey on Internet girls.

Timekeeper I am with you on this one!!

Why be deceptive to a fellow man?

For money?

I do not think this is good morally, other posters that think it is

must have been scammed themselves i would say and look at this as it happened to me

so i will pass it on.

How about passing on a warning to the poor love sick bugger?

I remember my first days here in Thailand some 10 years ago. Sitting at an internet cafe and watching a gal next to me send "form" emails to a variety of guys. All the same verbiage, just changed the Dear ????? part. Funny as hell. The email basically said miss you, love you, can't wait to see you again...can you send money?

The Thai guy running the shop was helping all the gals with their English...

I got an email from a gal I was seeing at the time. It was sent to my email address, but had a different guys name and talked about his recent visit. I hadn't seen her in several months. Oops!

Hey guys... it's a business! Of course, specially on paid websites, where guys pay for credits for the girls to be able to use Internet and send letters etc etc... there you need girls with good English skills to keep the guys happy... and with all the warnings out in the Net, I would assume that most of the guys out there know they are being scammed... but ignore it for the fun part of it... looking for a kick.... dreaming that all the words about love and how good they look are true...

And let's think about this: How many of the guys out there on these platforms are honest with the girls when they claim

1) to be highly successful business man and

2) "honestly" seeking LTR and marriage

3) describing themselves in nice colours

???

It's a business... everybody who wants to know about it will know about it...
