colinthailand20005
Hi all, My wife and I have been married for 2 years, and I have returned to the UK and have since changed my name, I am organising all of our documents to apply for my wifes settlement visa to the UK but before we apply I want her to change her name, she went to her local office that issues ID cards etc, and they said they need some document confirming my change of name. I sent my wife an original of my change of name deed poll, and she is going to get it translated. WIll this be sufficient or will she have to go to the embassy get it ceritifed then get that translated and then go to the ministry of foreign affairs to get it verified? (really the same procedure as an affirmation of freedom to marry) Thanks Edited November 29, 2011 by colinthailand20005
Mario2008
That will depend on the amphur. Try it this way and if they say no you will indeed have to have it certified. Moved to family section as not visa related.
