Poll Shows Falling Public Confidence in Politics

The latest Suan Dusit Poll shows the public's confidence regarding Thailand's politics has plummeted.

Meanwhile, the public's satisfaction over performance of the prime minister and the Opposition has increased.

The Suan Dusit Poll organized by Suan Dusit Rajabhat University revealed the results of its survey on public confidence in Thai politics in November.

Out of ten points, the political confidence index was at 4.82.

The public's satisfaction in the performance of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra rose from 5.05 to 5.29, and that for the Opposition rose from 4.94 to 5.23.

Regarding the satisfaction of the Pheu Thai government's performance, they scored 5.08 out of 10, up from 4.72 last month.

Respondents ranked the government's ability in addressing the overall economic problems at 4.77 out of 10 points, the cost of living problem at 4.80, the unemployment problem at 4.37, the goods price-hike problem at 4.36, the poverty problem at 4.42, and the corruption problem at 4.17.

Despite still being under five points, the score is higher than last month.

Thai Politics, what a joke it is turning into. A bunch of self interested people who have no regard for the citizens of the country. Yet their approval ratings are up?

Is this poll really to be believed!

surely the header for this post is wrong, It should read rising not falling confidence!

I really enjoy the 'poll result' which are forthcoming on a weekly basis. This one I could believe, the results may be the result of a ratio of interviews with one politician and one 'man on the street'.
