November 24, 200520 yr Thailand would be so much better and more pleasant if there weren't dozens of hand painted glary bill boards stuck on every tree along every road. It seems that anyone can put as many boards where ever they want without regard. I wonder if there are any laws about this.
November 24, 200520 yr There is actually such a thing as a 'sign tax'. Evidently it is either very low or not very efficiently enforced though.
November 24, 200520 yr I've never seen billboards like in Thailand - huge ones! Only reason they are up there is the minimul wind velocity - hence all the smog...

I don't mean the big ones in the city’s, with real pictures and adverts. I mean the many, many small ones that are completely Thai without pictures and only one or two lines of text. The home made ones that line the minor highways.

Well they're usually just signs advertising various services like petrol or food, pretty much the same as ones you'll see in the UK countryside advertising apples or Fresh cream Devon Arse Biscuits for sale. Shame they're in Thai in Thailand though. Utterly useless then aren't they............
