Does anyone know if there are any proposed changes to MN1 section 3(2) or 3(5) registration for British citizenship for minors (Nationality Act 1981)?

As things seem to be changing quite fast, it would be nice to know if there is anything proposed or in the pipeline and can any Act be retrospective i.e. children born before the change will be affected?

No changes currently proposed.

Obviously, one should check with the relevant authorities before submitting any application to ensure that one is aware of current requirements, fees etc.

Sometimes changes are retrospective in the way you describe, sometimes they are not. The government's choice.
