Thai Democrat Spokesman Claims Thaksin's Passport Reinstated

RT @tulsathit: Surapong also says passport can now be issued for Thaksin, "but I don't know if it's been issued."

The stench of bovine excrement is so nearly tangible.

He's your cousin you idiot. Pick up the phone and ask him: that is if you are as truly ignorant as you pretend to be about matters relating to your whole purpose for being in the job.

How would I know if he's been issued a passport or not?

It's not like I'm the head of the Foreign Ministry or anything or related to him.

You know what?

This is good.

It lets the inevitable happen.

5 Years from now Thailand will be entering into a full on civil war to rid the country of a ruthless DICTATOR the Red shirt spat will pail into insignificance.

Perhaps the UN will help "or not" (no oil at stake)

Thailand is heading towards a Dictatorship of the worst kind, police will be able to walk into your home and shoot you in the head if you are against the REGIME.

His opposition will be executed or just disappear.

Why is this good? it will give the Thais a lesson and a wake up call to reality and will be stronger for it if they survive.

Come back here in 10 years and hopefully it will all be behind us and we can remember the heros and the millions who died and the beloved institutions that were wipped out over night. (you know what I am talking about) :jap:

This will all happen. :(

Dictator is the word that is usually assigned to military generals and/or coup makers.

Maybe not in Thailand.

Surapong lives in fantasyland not Thailand.

Dictator is the world that is usually assigned to militar generals.

Maybe not in Thailand.

Power need not be wearing a uniform. Dictating without consultation

or ignoring consultation is a hall mark of Thaksin's administration,

he won't be less of a control freak this time around

as aging senility kicks in like Mugabe.

The "fix" was in the day after the election.

Let Thaksin back in and maybe the exchange rate will increase for foreign currency. 38 Thai Baht to $1 back in 2006.

No one is stopping Thaksin from coming back.

No one is stopping Thaksin from coming back . . . . to serve his jail sentence.

Surapong said Thaksin applied for a passport so he decided to remove him from the blacklist.

What possible twisted logic was behind Surapong getting Thaksin's application and deciding that this act was in itself, sufficient reasoning to forthwith remove Thaksin from the blacklist? Anyone?

Thailand is as close to a "family bussiness" they can do what they want.

"Thaksin thinks, PTP acts", they said it from the beginning, much as they try to obfuscate the truth now.

Ban on Thakin holding passport repealed

The Nation

30172023-01_big.jpg

The Foreign Ministry has repealed the passport ban on fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, which was issued by former foreign minister Kasit Piromya, Foreign Minister Surapong Tohvichakchaikul said Friday.

The minister said this was done because Thaksin is harmless and is not considered a security risk to the country.

The decision was taken after the ministry's Consular Affairs department informed him that Thaksin had applied for an ordinary passport via the Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. His original passport had been cancelled on April 12, 2009, at the order of Kasit Piromya, foreign minister in the previous government

The cancellation was ordered under ministerial regulations, which allow for a ban on holding passports for those nationals who do harm to the country.

"However I consider Khun Thaksin as harmless to the country. Therefore, I decided to revoke the order," Surapong said.

The new government which has Thaksin's sister; Yingluck, as the prime minister and Surapong of the Pheu Thai party, as the foreign minister, has never hidden its intention to bring back Thaksin to Thailand.

The revocation will enable Thaksin to get his new passport.

Surapong said this was the last time he would talk about the matter as, in his role as foreign minister, he has other duties to attend to, including strengthening relationships with other countries.

He declined to say whether Thaksin had already received his new passport or otherwise, saying consideration of this matter was the job of the Consular Affairs Department.

So what's the big deal? Any low level government yutz could sneak into a closed government office and print up a passport.

If he printed one up for Charles Manson or Jack the Ripper, do you figure they'd get into the country- (assuming, of course, Jack the Ripper was still alive in this analogy)?

The real news will break if and when he steps off the plane on Thai territory. Everything that happens before that is just posturing and puffing of the chests.

I think when he does return, it will be in complete secrecy, followed by his hiding out somewhere. Then his presence, but not his location, in Thailand will be slowly leaked over a period of weeks just to let people blow off steam about it. When things have calmed down, he will surface and then the job is done because all the steam will be taken out of his arrival. It won't be a case of him suddenly arriving at the airport in full glare of publicity.

Don't know why you all beat up on Thaksin. Are you seriously saying he is the only corrupt politician. He is just unfortunate that he got busted big style. I remember Thailand with fondness when he was leader. I felt like it was getting along. It hasn't since though has it. Years of fighting and the country split surely was a high price to pay just to nail Thaksin. Would have been better to deal with him when he was in Thailand. But equally all the others as well. But you couldn't because you wouldn't have any one left. LOL

Minister Affirms Return of Thaksin's Passport

The foreign minister confirms that he ordered reversal of the revocation of ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra's Thai passport.

Foreign Minister Surapong Towichakchaikul said former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who is living in exile overseas, has done no damage to the country nor the international community, so he has ordered the revocation of his passport lifted.

Surapong stated that the Department of Consular Affairs forwarded Thaksin's reapplication for his Thai passport to him via the ministry's permanent secretary after it was revoked by the previous administration which cited his threat to national security as its primary reason for revoking it.

The minister said the reinstatement of Thaksin's passport will be carried out by the ministry's civil servants and the Opposition can use Parliament to debate the issue and ask him to provide an explanation on the matter.

Surapong maintained that his order is in compliance with the disciplinary procedure of his ministry and the opposition bloc has the right to file charges against him, if it thinks his decision violates the law.

The minister insisted he only stayed in Abu Dhabi and never visited Dubai while he was in the United Arab Emirates.

He also declined to comment on rumors that Thaksin's name was removed from the ministry's blacklist.

IN one second it becomes clear how the Abhisit military puppet regime reigned. They hacked probably themselves into computers to add people to the blacklist, after which they got tortured in one of their military centers or so. Democrats are just little children. They make things up and have a lively fantasy. Way better than the Harry Potter movies. Today politics is not that interesting and exiting anymore given the statement of the Foreign Ministry that they had requested themselves to remove the name, that was added (as we know by now) by a democrat hacker to the blacklist in the first place.

PS: Always distrust organizations, parties, and countries which bear the name "Democrat(ic) in them, they seldom are)

If that's what you come up with in one second, frightening to think, given a full minute, what nonsense you could conjure.
