Featured Replies

A union car auctin is being held at big c duck square, friday 16/12/2011 ,,20 k baht needed for refundable bidders no and passport id, if falang bidder, take someone who understands thai with you.these are beihg held about every two weeks now.

What is a Union car?

Are those Thai Rung car auctions?

What happened BTW to their production facilities?

Thai Rungs are excellent - if they don't get too wet, of course.

Yes I would think we're going to get a lot of this auction stuff now until they get rid of the back log of submursibles. :whistling:

Interesting. I assume that this is a bank repo auction, yes? What time does the auction start? Any idea how many cars are being offered and what makes? Thanks.

if its the orange bank as i call them, they do most of the new car fianance they are stored next to pattaya auction house on darks side. looks a mixed bag of all sorts, they are auctioned there every 2 weeks at Big C so i would imagine its them. all look prity new.

I would not recommend buying a vehicle at a Union Car Auction.

I've been twice, in Pattaya and Khorat.

Inflated prices and from the conditions of sale - 6,500 baht for the blue book and documents with no comeback if anything is missing.

They charge 10% commission on the hammer price plus VAT.

There is very little time to look at the cars/pick-ups after they start them up plus there are no guarantees.

However, there were many Thai car dealers bidding for most of the vehicles.

There are safer ways of buying a car/pickup.
