Private Health Insurance

Featured Replies

Hello there, I have been trying to find out how much a private health insurance can cost in Thailand. I have found all the major insurers on the net and found no price, it is always as clear as mud a bit. So the option is always, to get a quote. If someone could tell me what I can count on. I would like to size this up to know my possibilities. 20000 or 200000?

Any answer would be appreciated regarding to a yearly or monthly cost of an ordinary insurance, one could cover the most important health problems. Cheers

B50,000 with BUPA international for my wife. It has a ceiling of (UK£1.5M), I found all local insurances were confined to a maximum payout of limited means (i.e. 1MB) but do pay out for the small things such as medication etc....

If you can afford the small things (i.e. bills for cough etc) but have no desire to fork out of a major issue you hope will never happen BUPA IMO is the way to go.

I just had a surprise and encountered a medivac and hospital stay totaling more than US$50k which work covered on their insurance. It was still good to know that my own private insurance would have covered it.

Thanks, so around 50000 per year, not cheap but not a disaster.

Anyway, this issue seems a bit insignificant :( not so many replies

It becomes significant when something goes wrong. There are a few of those threads around. It appears there are many members prepared to criticize those without insurance when something goes wrong. Those same members do not appear to be helpful when asked for advice.

I hope I have helped. I'm sure more info from other members would be helpful.
