Tron Movie Motorbike Brought To Life

Featured Replies

The Light Cycle is apparently road legal, powered by a Suzuki 996cc engine with tyres off a truck.

My initial thought is it would handle like an American car - great in straight lines, but not so good at turning corners.

Not seing how they can make a stick to become a motorcycle with todays technology... Nahhh... Will stick to my ER6F for now...

Honestly, this is the real life Tron Lightcycle. It may not (yet?) look quite as cool but it's a real product and it's all about performance and comfort. Once they put a 155KW electric motor in it.... wooooo....

They're around $80k and available today!

Call me crazy but ever since I've experienced the acceleration of a 650cc motorcycle I had been wondering why there are none with more safety features. Like a roll cage. If I drive my Toyota family mobile there's mandated by law that there be seat belts and airbags. But if I hop on an engine with wheels - nothing! Safety gear if you wear it but most of that isn't required by law either, and it doesn't come with the bike either. Does that make sense?

There is a lot of built in safety on a motorbike: 2 brakes, wheels with rubber and profile limit, mirrors to look behind, a handlebar to choose the direction, ... wink.gif

If this all wouldn't be mandated by law, what do you think bikes in Thailand would look like? Some even try to drive without brakes today, regardless if mandated by law or not.

Maybe the BMW C1 is something for you. Has roll cage , seat belt and maybe ABS too.
