Someone must have woken up to you RDN :o

Well, I fixed it by sending myself a couple of messages. The count went up to 0, then +1 but it didn't go negative when I read them, it just stayed at zero. So all is well. :o

Sorry RDN, that was my fault.

I sent you a PM and then changed my mind :o

what program did you use to get that screenshot ?

taxexile, it's really easy to do.

On your keyboard is a button that says "print screen". Press that and then open an image editor program, like IrfanView, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro etc, and then open a new, empty picture file. Press Ctrl + V. The picture of your screen will appear in the file.

Draw/write any remarks with the pen/brush and text tools. Then use the selection tool to designate the borders of the area you want to save as a picture. Then find the command "Crop" in the Edit menu. Then save the pic and post it here.

Cheers

Really easy.

Also if you hold the Alt key down when hitting the print screen key it will capture only the window in focus rather then the full screen unless of course if your window is maximized (full screen) already.

Example of my firefox window moved down to the bottom of my display effectively cropping it.

Nice one tywais - now I learned something as well. :o

Once you have captured the screen shot goto start -->all programs --> accessories --> Paint. Click on Paint, click on "edit" then click on "paste" and the screen shot will appear in the Paint window. (for those conditioned to using the mouse cursor)

Back on-line after a few days without telephone line...

As meadish said, I just hit "PrtSc" - "Print Screen" - which is next to F12 on my lap top.

If I have my favourite "digital content manager" running minimised - called Compupic - then it automatically restores itself with the screen dump as a new image. I can then crop it to show just the bit I want. When I save it - as jpg, bmp, etc - I can reduce the quality so the file is small: a "before" and "after" window is displayed so I can adjust the quality down until I see a loss of detail. Then I tweak it back up a bit so it looks OK, but the file is still small.

And I use Imageshack ( http://imageshack.us ) as my image hosting web site.

You can get a free trial of Compupic Pro here: http://www.photodex.com/products/compupicpro/

Yes, I use "Paint" that way too when I don't have Compupic running. I also find "Paint" easier to use for joining bits of pictures together and for general editing of pictures. And best of all, it's free. :D

<deleted> brilliant ! !

In 20 odd years of using a computer I never learned that one.

Thank you.
