Pfft! Nice post. Why bother do you even bother to post anything if that's all you can say? Why don't you send a PM to the member and be somewhat helpful?

Why are you angry, you dont even want any fireworks. Discussing the shop would be illegal

I'm not angry... I just don't like people that post BS for the sake of it. You could as I said send the member a Private Message as to where the shop is. Click on their profile and then you will will see a box to send them a private message. Nothing illegal about it! Kind of like an email... Private, not public. I can buy fireworks right down the road from me, no problem... But I live and have lived in Phuket for many years without problems...

So what is actually the illegal activity here that can't be discussed? Buying? Posession? or use of fireworks? Seems to me it's usually use of or posession of fireworks that's the problem, so what's the big deal?

On the other hand, common sense says that lighting these things up in the big city isn't a smart thing to do, and running afoul of the law (especially as a foreigner) isn't too bright either.

Maybe better to ask your superior at the cop shop...

From this translation of the Firearms act, it would appear that buying and using fireworks is legal, with only manufacturing, storage and selling requiring licenses.

I would like to suggest that anybody playing with fireworks exercise caution. wink.png

If they are a licensed dealer then shouldn't be a problem. Just type Fireworks Thailand into Google and you will get several hits including this one > http://www.thailandfireworks.com/contact.htm

So does Thailand have the "safe and sane" type or the really good "unsafe and insane". Judging by the rocket contests, I'd say they might lean on the "unsafe and insane" type.
