Hotel Or Guest House In Vientiane, Laos

I'm off to Vientiane for a few days and was wondering if anybody can recommend an inexpensive hotel or very nice guest house. Staying 3 nights (check in 30th December, check out 2nd January). Price range: around Baht 1,000 - 1,200 per night for a double room. Any suggestions? Name of hotel/guesthouse and telephone number or e-mail address would be appreciated. think i paid 60 usd per night for their top double room. think standard room are about 40 usd

good location right on the river bank, 5 minute walk to bor pen yang bar.

There are a few inexpensive ones near "The Fountain Monument" You can't miss it.

Also near the Thai Embassy also. Price reasonable.

If it's of any interest: stayed at a place caleld "d'Rose", just a 2 minute walk from the fountain. US$ 40 per night, incl. breakfast and free use of the internet. In my honest opinion, it was overpriced. Breakfast was VERY limited (coffee or tea and toast. No eggs, ham, cheese, etc.) and the internet was VERY slow. The room was clean and quiet, but I really don't think I'll be staying there again - not for that price anyways.
