Hi, Happy New Year to you all!!

I have a multiple entry Non O visa that is coming up to the end of it's first 90 days on the 3rd of January.

I'm supposed to do a visa run but would really like to put it off.

If I went to the Immigration in Lopburi how many days extension would they give me?

I've read that you can turn a Non O multiple visa into a 1 year visa with 90 day reporting is that true?

If so how do I go about doing it?

Thanks

You could go to immigration on the 4th with the proper documentation and

1. You could apply for a seven day extension –cost 1900 baht. You might have to show a ticket showing that you are leaving Thailand during the 7 days.

2. If you have a Thai family, wife or child, you could apply for a 60 day extension – cost 1900 baht.

3. If you are 50 years old and have either 800000 baht that has been in a Thai bank for 2 months, or a letter from your embassy stating that your income from outside of Thailand is at least 65000 baht/month, you could apply for a 1 year retirement extension – cost 1900 baht. You would only have to do 90 day reports during the one year.

4. If you are married to a Thai you could apply for a 1 year marriage extension –cost 1900 baht. The financial requirements are 400000 baht in a Thai bank or 40000 baht per month income respectively. The income does not have to come from outside Thailand, but you might have to show tax receipts and that woyld be hard since you don’t have a work permit.

You could do a border run as Lite Beer suggested.

You could do nothing and overstay at a cost of 500 baht/day. The maximum overstay is 20000 baht which you would have to pay when you left Thailand. You would be illegally in Thailand and subject to arrest and deportation if caught.

You wanted some options, there they are!

Thanks Wayned,

Option 2 sounds good.

I have a daughter and I remember getting a 60 extension back in June before I went back to the UK.

Are you only allowed one 60 day extensions in one year?

If not then I might try for that on the 4th when they reopen but I'd hate to get there and they say sorry you've already had one this year.

I'll have to pay one day over stay won't I?

Thanks

There is no overstay if you apply on first workday if your stay ended on a holiday. There is no limit in the law now for the 60 day extension (just not from another 60 day extension) but can not guarantee local office may not have another opinion. But believe you will be safe.

Thanks for the info guys you've saved me a visa run and a wasted day!

Don't know about that...... normally after a long holiday believe you can spend all day at Immigration with crowds of others waiting...

1,900 baht for 60 days extension, or 1.900 baht for an all in Visa run bus and you get 90 days....... Maybe just me but would rather be on the move than sat in a room waiting all day + get 30 days more for the same price
