Just noticed that the 2012 motorbike show is being held from the 1st to the 5th of February in Bangkok.

I will be at home and will possibly be heading in to buy some accessories for my YZF-R6 and would be interested to know if anyone has been to last years show and if there is a good selection of Yamaha accessories there like, tank pads, front screen and general spares for the bike.

Thanks

ummmm...no not really.. tank pad ok.. front screens maybe but bloody expensive compared to the west.

Unfortunatly some things are expensive thaicbr but living in Thailand you have to pay the price for what you want and thats something I am prepaired to do where as some other people are not.

what i meant was.. if you know what you want then it can be cheaper to purchase from the west.. but ok..

personally i do not like paying double just because Thailand is "expensive" for big bike parts. If you have oodles of money then that's cool.

Panda rider are good for riding gear, good quality reasonable prices.

I'll second that, I just went ot Panda Rider this Tuesday and bought a tank bag, to be honest if i had more cash i would have walked away with gloves, a better helmet for the missus and a few other goodies :D

I also popped into Paddock and bought my Girlfriend a nice armored jacket, both places highly recommended :)

Okay I will give them a try I just thought that with Yamaha now selling the R6 that they would have a selection of accessories that could be bought at a reasonable price.

In my experience the show is good for looking at some nice high end bikes and buying a bit of clothing/accessories if you see something you like. Not really the place to pick up spare parts for bikes though. It's good fun for an hour or two though.

No probs, what day do you plan to go to the show? I have no intentions of buying anything there, as most show/promotion prices are more expensive than small specialist shops that import the same goodies, the only problem is finding such shops....

Another shop worth looking at is http://www.mocyc.com/store/view.php?idclassified=167496 there is a lot of clothing on this site (shop locate not too far from Seacon Square) but i do recall seeing screens on there some where, might be worth a call too :)

I went last year the only thing the show is good for is the models. Ducati girls all iin black hot.

Now there's a good enough reason to go just hope they use the FHM girls. 555

just get yourself on ebay stores, avoid courier companies like DHL, Fedex and use normal parcel post, if from US... lots of of bits from China/Hong Kong stores as well...

Never thought about that but will have a look at that also, was just in Hong Kong last month as well. Thanks
