Im not denying this happened but knowing the US goverment and there history of creating situations/illusions only to get the backing of there people it most likely is just for show. This probably happens 100 times a year but only now it seems important.

Your recollection of the rising of the Taliban is entirely off base. The Taliban arose after the Russians had left Afghanistan and became the dominant military force there with the support of the Pakistani ISI. Perhaps you could read the following links to shore up your knowledge of the Middle East. The US had nothing to do with the creation of the Taliban.

Can you please explain to me why nobody was impeached or served prison time for the US servicemen who were murdered aboard the USS Liberty?

USS Liberty was a US Navy "technical research vessel" (i.e. spy ship) repeatedly attacked by the Israeli air force and navy during the Six Day War and has absolutely nothing to do with this topic.

BTW, Israel paid "compensation" for the 34 dead, 170 wounded (one of whom is a friend of mine) and damages to the vessel.

...and I wouldn't trust a member of both the Obama and Carter administrations to be very truthful either.

I normally don't use Wiki but thought it might be useful due to it's brevity. Mr. Z and the US supported the Mujahideen in their war against Russia. The Taliban did not come into existence until after the Russians had left. Nobody but the Islamic extremists in Afghanistan and Pakistan created the Taliban.
