ChiangMai101
Is it possible to purchase Nexium, Crestor and Spiriva (capsules for inhalation) over the counter at pharmacies in Chiang Mai? Or does one need to get a prescription from a local doctor? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Sheryl
All 3 of these drugs are OTC in Thailand. They will be expensive, though, as they are imported from abroad. There are no exact locally made equivalents but for Crestor and Nexium, there are locally made brands of drugs in the same class and of similiar chemical composition (PPI and statin, respectively). harrry
Spiriva costs round 1800 baht 30 caps. It is not available everywhere but you can get it from some major pharmacies and hospitals. I suggest the CMU Pharmacy in Suteph Rd.

payanak
Crestor by AstraZeneca is available in Bangkok. I have purchased it at both Southeast Pharmacy at soi 15 Sukumvit and at the large university pharmacy across the street from MBK. The price at each was about 1250 baht for a 28 day supply. The same thing at pharmacies in the US is anywhere from $130 to $180.
