haveaniceday
I was reading through the thread below in this section, there are many references to a annual property tax. Thai Visa folks seemed to be referring to the lower Chanotes in this discussion, I am aware for room for rents / commercial etc there are annual taxes, but what about a residential house on a full chanote, non condo? Are there annual taxes / rates somehow ? The thread is not that relevant, but it got my attention to start this. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/523506-thai-refuses-to-vacate-wifes-property/page__st__25
InterestedObserver
Building and Land Tax, no tax on your primary residence. Local Land Tax, a few baht per rai per year. Current law only, new rates pending.
Langsuan Man
There have been many attempts to tax houses in Thailand but every attempt has been thwarted by special interests As InterestedObserver stated currently there are not taxes on houses unless they are rented out or are commercial structures Source: http://www.propertys...roperty-tax.asp

YES, but the amount could be so small you may have to beg them for a tax bill, especially if a newly purchased couple of rai.
