Bangkok Bank does offer a joint account that requires all parties signatures to withdraw funds so might have something to do with that? Do you have to present both passbooks for withdrawal?

Yes I understand that. I think that's one of the reasons the 2 and 3 month "seasoning" came in. At 10-20% / month that sort of loan gets expensive, I'll also add that sometimes the people offering the loans were Immigration officers.

Of course in my previous post should have been shark not sharp, too late to alter now.

The bank account has to be in your name only.

The bank letter has to be dated within a day or two of application. Some Immigration Offices even want it on the same day.

You also need your bankbook updated on the same day showing the same balance as the letter.

The bank letter, and the bank A/c booklet have a 7 day acceptance date.

There is not set acceptance limit. In Bangkok they may want it that day and have the banks one floor down if you do not meet there requirements.
