No link. But that's just it. It seems that there is a serious lack of information dissemination here. Nobody seems to know what's going on, when and where things are going to happen. Don't be surprised to find out Thanalai Road will be closed to traffic on the 26th of Jan. This time is supposed to be the King Mengrai Festival with lots of activities - either at the National Stadium or on the runway of the old airport. Haven't seen or heard anything about that either. What's going on???

Just skipped over to Suan Tung and found out there is going to be an Antique bicycle show. Think Penny Farthing bicycles. That should be a blast.

There is very little information I can find to add to our honeypot of knowledge. Tomorrow ( the 26th) there is the annual celebration of the foundation of CR which traditionally starts at 08.39 and is presided over by the governer, followed by processional ceremony - this is at Wat Doi Ngam Muang. At 14.30 there is an opening ceremony at the Old airfield of something ( a fair/music thing - no idea) opening by the Governer. This will run until the 3rd of February. There is something on tomorrow evening at Rai MaeFahLuang but it is possibly an invitation only dinner and show??? They were doing the sound checks today so that was the only clue we have had. In February, the 23rd to the 26th, at the "circle of culture'/ Kuang Culture - which is described as "near the NamKok ' and also as 'on the way to the airport,(maybe at the flower show site?) there are more events planned involving 'ethnic music' and is billed as "World Colours". If anyone has more information, or more reliable information, please post.

At HaaYaak/Mengrai this morning there was a big religious ceremony. The super-highway was closed to traffic - bliss!

I bet there was chaos elsewhere as it was the rush hour. Nearby,in the soi where I live, cars were backed up all morning.

Here are some photos:

26 Jan

13:00 h - Poh Khun Mengrai Maharaj Festival at Old Airport

19:00 h - Grand Dinner at Rai Mae Fah Luang (By invitation only) Too bad - not invited to this.

19:00 h - Festival at Suan Tung - includes light and sound show. Should be interesting.

20:00 h - Fingernail dance at Suan Tung.

Everyone is politely asked to dress up in purple colored clothes which is the color of the province of Chiang Rai.
