Wow, the Bangkok Bike Festival just keeps getting bigger and better!

While a few brands were noticeably missing, there were also some new brands making a first appearance as well as an ever growing list of vendors, so definitely worth a visit.

Tony, thanks for the pics. Was it mentioned if there is an Aprilia dealer in Thailand / website?

If you find one please grab me a Tuono while you are there, I'll pay you back every month ;-)

Stu, I would lose a nut for a current model RSV4. Stunnng bike. Love the engines and the race technology electronics fitted for the street. biggrin.png

I've never acctually parked my bike in / under Central world, i'd just like to know before i start trying to park my bike somewhere i shouldn't :)

@corporate drone loserlazer: I thought about this - what bike would be "corporate"? I think you can't go wrong with a Ducati Monster.

Triumph classic bikes maybe too but in nearly any movie where you see smartly dressed people riding bikes (not that there are that many) - it's a Ducati. A Royal Enfield... too out there, you're never going to make it like that! tongue.pngtongue.png

bigbikebkk: man thruxton is the best choice for my corporate bike quest. nice bike, but it will be too much for me for now tossing 500,000 something and i have a sweet time with my Enfield back in India when i was travelling/freaking there. Nostalgia you know.

nikster: ducati monster is so red man - i know there is a black version - and it is sporty as well especially the new model. old models might work though still hard to find a legitimate one here in Thailand.

I am not a great fan of classic bikes. I rode some but i never owned one.

and i am sure the new models of Enfield bikes are much more reliable now so you do not need your hands dirty like before. still 330,000 thb is ridiculous - fourfold price - as it is only around 2000 USD for 350 and around 3000 USD for 500 in India man!!

thanks guys for your advices and hope to see you some of you in Bike show.

And bought a few things while there too :)

post-59428-0-14445300-1328278595_thumb.j Some boots for the girlfriend, she wanted these, not the most protective boots in the world but better than her high heel shoes she insists on wearing.... :S

Also bought some de-greaser, thought i'd give Motoplay's stuff a try, 240B :)

post-59428-0-37562900-1328278603_thumb.j Bought myself a pair of Glover gloves from Panda Rider's stand, 7400B - 6400B - 5000B, for 5000B i could of got some Alpinestars gloves but i really liked the look of these ones plus they have carbon instead of the plastic that the 5000B Alpinestars were offering, i just like the bling of carbon, both plastic and carbon reinforcements offer equal protection.

post-59428-0-82635600-1328278611_thumb.j It was time to treat my girlfriend again, last month a nice jacket, this month a bargain of a helmet, 3500B! Great little helmet for that price.

Fortunately on the way home my tang bag swallowed up her old helmet and all my camera gear but boy ohh boy what a pain in the ass it was getting back home (Latkrabang) :(

Great deals by our sponsor Shark at the show on Helmets, I have the RSI D-tone Hologram, its a great helmet that actually fits and has very low wind noise.

In other exciting news, Royal Enfields are now available in Thailand!

423585_10151229065495710_508210709_22939561_596235280_n.jpg

Pretty pricey for what you get... The 350cc Bullet above goes for 330k Baht, but the sales rep said something about having them assembled in Thailand in which case the price could be as low as 140k Baht.

There is also the "Classic 500" which doesn't cost much more than the Bullet:

I took some more detailed pics of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Bullet). Sorry, quality is not as good as i hoped it would. So for those interested, here they are smile.png

it was a nice day at the fair last Saturday. sorry no photos as there are a lot here already.

Bought a helmet and nice jacket for gf plus a surprise, i found and bought a DNA air filter for cbr 250 for a price of 2400 thb which is lower then its original price in Europe! - which is 80 Euros with posting 110 Euros!- It was a steal man.

update on Enfield: They will start production in Thailand within two months and in May, they will start to sell 350 for 130,000 thb and 500 for 190,000 thb.

interesting points: Kawa z1000, Enfield, new er6 n is not bad at all. kawas are nice but why they do not consider on producing zx 6r in Thailand, i really do not know as they might sell it for around 350.000 - 400,000 thb, i am sure.

Honda big bikes are nonsense, big disappointment if you ask me. Where is cbr 600? 310,000 thb for a 250 cc cross bike? c'mon. But loved VFR 1200 again as always. good bike man and this time with dual clutch transmission.

mv agusta! love at first sight. 1,500,000 something thb!!! i want to cry as it will be always a platonic love between us:((

400,000 thb ducati monster with 1 year waiting list :((( who will die who will be alive one year later? hate all kind of waiting lists.

Able to find a full system Yoshimura for 20,000 thb for cbr 250 but i am still debating with myself as i want to go for 400 or 600 cc bikes honda will soon produce here - is it real for sure? i am hearing the rumours of Honda for producing big bikes here for 3 years now!!! - or er6n soon so do i need to spend more on cbr 250?

And, Pretties and beer stand of course:)

thanks for the organization for preparing us the only bike fair in Bangkok and thanks for the photos guys.

Wonder why an extra 60k for the 500 Enfield - basically just a larger pot and piston

Completely different bikes. The 500 is a significantly bigger and heavier bike. Has kick start in addition to the electric start. It's fuel injected while the 350 is carb'd. Etc smile.png

I hope you are right. There are many announcements and rumours every year and sadly only a few of it become reality. I wouldn't want to spend 60.000 Baht to get 150cc more. But i will start saving some money to be prepared for such a cheap Enfield 350 clap2.gif

As there are "rumours" Tiger will be cooperation-partner of Enfield i would guess that the Enfield bikes are getting assembled and maybe sold by Tiger (respectivly "Bike Care"). Can someone confirm this? Thanks

I really liked the look of the new Triumph Tiger 800XC

But at 800,000THB, is it really worth it over the Versys, anyone have on yet?

There was a guy out on a ride with Me, Derik & Tony two weeks back, who had one, maybe he'll add something here.

I recall him saying it's a giant armchair :D

Sounds good! It should be better off-road than the Versys to. I am looking to up-size to the Versys from my F650gs. But, after 60-70km of very bumpy dirt track on my ride over the weekend I am wondering if the Versys would have been up to the job or not. A Tiger 800XC would have been a nice alternative but it is hard to justify the extra cost.
