Counter Terrorism Bureau: Safe to visit Thailand

By HERB KEINON

Agency cites work of Thai security forces, including the arrest of alleged Hezbollah operative in lowering travel warning.

Thailand is once again safe for Israeli travelers, at least according to the National Security Council's Counter Terrorism Bureau.

JERUSALEM: -- The Bureau released a statement Thursday saying a previous "severe travel warning" issued two weeks ago over the likelihood of an immediate attack against Israelis in Bangkok has been canceled because of the work of the Thai security forces that included the arrest of an alleged Hezbollah operative there, and the uncovering of a Hezbollah weapons storehouse –and other Hezbollah facilities -- in the country.

So much for the conspiracy theories of some of TVF's bashing brigade. According to them, this was all a plot by Israel to punish Thailand over the unrelated PAA regognition. With this announcement, that argument vaporizes.

The PAA recognition came after the terrorist alert so unlikely to be a punishment though a tool to put pressure on Thailand not to recognise PAA is still a possibility.

Maybe it is a ringing endorsement from Israel over the Thai authorities handling of the case and anti-terrorist measureshuh.png

As an American, I feel bad for my country but it is certain that they have credibility problem when come to assessing the terrorism and the world need to ignore them as far as announcing terrorism issues

and the uncovering of a Hezbollah weapons storehouse –and other Hezbollah facilities -- in the country.

What "other Nezbollah facilities" in Thailand have been uncovered, other than the bomb-making supplies stash?

Suk Soi 3?

I wonder what kind of a warning they would put out for visiting Israel if they used the same criteria as they do for Thailand.

... okay ... the Israeli National Security Council's Counter Terrorism Bureau ... these guys, I trust ... the Thais? ... in no way can they be trusted to make a reliable risk assessment.

... ashamed that Thai credibity is so absent that their own security situations have to be cleared by foreign security agencies before anyone will believe them.

... I think the rest of the world will now listen, and Thailand may again continue hosting tourists.

Simple minds are easily tricked into simple conclusions.

But to keep you busy and help a bit with prevention have a look

It happened in the past and without being vigilant it can happen again.

Anything can happen. In this case, the Israel conspiracy theories behind Hezbollah operating in Thailand are total BS.

Yeah, they just found a few tons of explosives connected to a shady character or three that promised the explosives weren't meant for bombing Thailand. Plus the trails of a few other shady characters that left Thailand before they could be apprehended. Shame on those Americans for warning their citizens of a credible threat.

Conspiracy theories have been deleted and links to them.

Please stick to the topic of the OP.
