Phangan In February

Featured Replies

hi folks!!!

me and my family are going to phangan for the first time in feb.we are staying at the garden lodge in ban tai.is the resort good and how is phangan compared to other islands in thailand prices etc...we have been to phuket, krabi, samed, rayong

and koh chang.is there something special we should do,see or think about??

:o

Don't know the beach you're staying on but, I love the island. I think, in simple terms, if you like to party, head for Haad Rin. If not there is plenty more of Phan Ghan to see. Quite easy to get around too.

From memory, head for Mai Had and Bottle Beach. North and East (ish) of the island I think are best. Its a small island though so, if you don't like where you are move on. I find Phan Ghan caters for most moods, and tastes.

Enjoy.

ps; Haad Rin, I reckon is not for kids.....!!!!!

I've never been into Garden Lodge myself but it looked nice when we drove past. Haven't heard anything negative, if that helps :o Garden Lodge is about halfway between Ban Tai village and Thong Sala. It should actually be quite mellow and laid back, even in Feb. They have a swimming pool I believe and the ocean will have water but not too deep for little ones. You should be fine there, it is near the main road so it will be easy enough to get into town and back. Other places on the island can be difficult unless you rent a motorbike or choose not to go anywhere at all!
