BANGKOK, 28 January 2012 (NNT) - Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will visit Thailand in February to meet with the Thai truth commission and lend his help on the country's reconciliation process.

Mr. Kittipong Kittayarak, Permanent Secretary of the Justice Ministry, revealed via his website, www.kittipongforjustice.com, that former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has confirmed the Truth for Reconciliation Commission of Thailand (TRCT) 's invitation to visit the country during February 16th-19th. The trip is intended to let the former UN Secretary General share his ideas on the reconciliation process with representatives from various interest groups.

On October 21, 2011, Mr. Kittipong and TRTC Chairman Kanit na Nakorn met with Mr. Annan in Geneva, Switzerland, where both asked for advice on how to achieve the reconciliation in Thailand while inviting the former UN chief to travel to the country.

Mr. Kittipong said that his meeting in Geneva has ended with 3 suggestions, including real collaboration from all sides of the conflict to actually undo the divisiveness, the promotion of public outreach to educate them the TRTC's mandate and allow for public participation, and the independence of TRTC with its work free from both internal and external interference.

Didnt he have a son who got fingered for dodgy dealing/corruption a few years ago ?

Thai truth commission - isn't that an oxymoron? Or is it a paradox?

Worse than that. it was the oil for food UN program. Basically, it was how Sadaam was able to avoid the UN sanctions. Had the sanctions been enforced and allowed to work, there is a strong chance we would not have had the Iraqi war.

And who was head of the UN at the time ?.....Daddy by any chance ?.........So it would appear they would fit in very well here then !!

Birds of a feather all flock together.

Now he can have dodgy dealings in Thailand in exchange for endorsing Thaksin's 'reconcilliation'. Works out beautifully for everyone.

Wait untill he suggests something they don't want to hear, then we will get the statement Kofi Annan is not our father.

So... the Iraqi war was not because of the WMD?? and the president of "the greatest nation on earth" was just a dam_n liar??

Shocked I am shocked I tell you.. devastated...

Doesn't make him much better than the now presented "theories" about Kofi Annan, now does it. Nuff said.
