Hello, i travel to Thailand at the beginning of March 06.

I am keen to have all the paperwork in place as soon as possible.

My intention at this time is to apply for the Visa in early January. I want to have the application decided upon so i know if it is approved. I will make the application to Hull in the UK.

I will apply to 'visit friends'

I have a CELTA and two degrees and intend to seek teaching work some time after settling in. I understand that once i am offerred a job, that i will then apply for a Non-B Visa and the whole time limit will begin again.

I understand that i may need to do a visa run one or so months after arriving in Thailand, but i want the peace of mind of knowing my application is approved, or as much time as possible to make fresh applications for other visas.

And your question is? :o

Ok now I see you put the question outside the box. So the "now" would be early January (strange logic) and later would be (?). Or would the now be now and the later be January?

All I can say is that you will have 90 days to use a single entry visa from the date it is issued. If it is a multi entry you would have the full year. Up to you.
