I've never understood, or found a source, to explain where the WETV "cable" extends to geographically speaking.I guess it means a visit to their office

What is "the box" for? I have never had one for WETV. A cable plugs straight into my TV.

General Grant,

I was told that my signal was too weak; that is why I needed the box, the 1800 deposit, and the bigger bill. I was never told about more channels. I'm in a condo, so it likely has something to do with the distance from the pole/utility box. But, as stated before. I feel they misrepresented, they even left about 5 feet of slack in the cable, for a wall mounted TV....then they test the signal and start the bad news. Pay now, and our technician will come tomorrow....all smoke and mirrors. But I watched it for 3 months, and it was watchable, but clearly not doing my new Toshiba TV justice. The 120 THB HDMI to the Chromebook is great. BTW, They say you only need 800K download speed to get NFL Gamepass in HD, so the basic 3bb service is fine, and I'm even using the Wi-fi. The 500 baht cards for true sound interesting. I'm going to look at that. I have a True office about 100 meters from my condo, and they didn't mention that option, and they were at quota in my building, because the 799 tv/net seemed to be the best deal. And within the last few days, there is another internet company advertising on the corner. Good to see the competition. I know people paying 200 USD in the States for cable/internet/phone.....that's a lot of som tam.

Check out ilikeHD you get most of the channels that TRUE,CTH, WEtV has

plus a lot more, stream it from PC to Tv, easy if you have HDMI outlet on

tv and PC, can be streamed other ways ,500 Bht pm ,easy to pay ,just

buy TRUE money at any 7-11, enter code into pay page, max 15 mins

and your off and running.has SKY sports 5 channels,US sports channels

No paying for boxes, dishes, set it up yourself, and the servers are in BKK

so works even if your Internet not so good, IPTV, is the way to go.

regards Worgeordie

Can't see Sky sports on the website wg !

was looking for a channel line up but only get a log-in page. searched google but don't see it there either.

Hi Oscar2, If you click on create account, on that log on page they will send you SMS with code so you can log in,

No need to give them your real name ect if you dont want to put anything in, BUT you must enter mobile phone

number so they can send you the SMS, if you have any problems, send them email they are very quick to reply,

in English, which is very unusual for any Thai company. regards worgeordie

I was able to register without verification code. Question...will I be able to download movies to my thumb drive?

Are people still using WETV stuff?

I guess that this is an old blog. biggrin.png

Seems a bit cheap.

Cable - WETV It is not available in all areas of Chiang Mai. Most Condo's and Serviced Apartments

have WETV. You need to check if it is available in your area.

Fee Structure - Installation about 1000 Baht

Extra Connection 500 Bant

Monthly Fee 350 Baht

They used to have promotions but I don't think they do anymore. On our promotion we had 0 installation fee, 0 extra connection, free monthly service for 6 months, then 6 months at 150/month, 6 @ 250, then 350/month after 18 months. We've had them for almost 10 years and can't find any fault with them. However I am terribly disappointed that the dropped BBC but I got past it. We have True also but I prefer WETV.

And still only 350b p/m?

and another question... do you know if you can cancel for a few months, then reconnect again if you wish to?

thanks very much.

350/month if they cover your area of course. Can't answer about the re-connection. After the one year contract, it's month to month.
