Schoolkids gunning down their rival school foe? I'm shocked.... but hope the true story is revealed. :o

Bangkok Post report today puts this into a whole different context.

One shot fired by one gunman (who may have had a friend with him) killing one student age 13 who is not suspected to have been the target (which is expected to be of a personal nature). A very misleading first report (nothing new there). Or the follow-up it wrong. :o

It appears that the "one shot" was from a shotgun aimed into the back of the open truck that, in it's spray pattern of lethal pellets, killed the boy and also managed to injure 4 other youngsters...

A horrible incident:

Kanchanaburi - A 13-year-old schoolboy was killed and four other students injured when a gunman opened fire on a modified truck carrying students in Lao Khwan district yesterday.

The shooting happened about 7.30 am.

A six-wheel truck serving as a school bus and carrying more than 30 students was attacked on the Nong Pradu-Nong Pho road in Lao Khwan district.

One shot was fired into the vehicle, hitting Krisada Porthong, 13, in the back. Four other students were slightly injured.

Krisada, a Mathayom Suksa 1 student of Uthong Suksalai school, was pronounced dead at hospital.

The injured - three girls and a boy, were identified as Saifon Chusrichan, a Mathayom Suksa 3 student; Khanittha Porsrithong, Mathayom Suksa 3; Hathaya Chueplong, Mathayom Suksa 6, all from Uthong Suksalai School; and schoolboy Kittipong Pipattanasukhon, a Mathayom Suksa 1 student of Rattanasuksa School.

One spent shotgun cartridge was found at the scene of the attack.

Driver Sabiang Thonghem, 42, said he heard a loud noise at the rear of his vehicle at the time of the attack. He initially thought it was a firecracker lit by schoolboys.

Suddenly a student knocked on the rear window asking him to stop the vehicle. He found one student shot in the back and four others wounded and rushed them to a hospital.

Kittipong, one of the injured students, said he did not see the attacker but believed he might have been hiding in a roadside eucalyptus planation.

Iryada Klaikrasae, 14, said she believed the gunman was targeting a rival student, not the dead victim.

Salee Porthong, 37, the victim's mother, said her son had no conflicts with any other students. Her son was a regular passenger on the school bus.

Police believed the gunman had at least one companion. A police team was hunting them down.

Happens between technical college students in Bangkok on a regular basis. Difference is, they don't shoot at an entire busload, just each other :o

Thats why they should take their "Anger" and vent it in Video Game Arena.

A couple tournaments of 16 vs 16 counter strike with 50 or so teams would keep them busy for months.

POLICE DEVELOPING THE CASE ON ATTACKER ON SCHOOLBUS IN KANJANABURI

Police have received more evidence to the gunning of the school bus carrying students in Kanjanaburi province, and the motive of the attack is assumed to have been caused by tensions between rival students.

This week a school car carrying pupils was fired at by an attacker wielding a shotgun. The incident, which resulted in the death of a 13-year-old boy and injuries to several other students from Uthongsuksawitthayalai (อู่ทองศึกษาวิทยาลัย) school, occured in Laokhwan (เลาขวัญ) district in Kanjanaburi.

Police believe that the incident occured as an act of revenge from an earlier incident where a student from the school had shot and injured a rival student from another school.

Region 7 Provincial Police Commissioner CHALONG SONJAI (ฉลอง สนใจ) said that the examination of the bullet path did not indicate an intention to directly hit anyone within the car. It is believed that the weapon was probably stolen from the attacker's parents.
