I was in my technicians shop and saw this on his desktop. Looks like a nice gadget to take with you if using a netbook. He payed 150 Baht for it in Chiang Mai. biggrin.png

I thought the computers in StarTrek responded to voice?

No keyboard needed.

Voice was for simple commands, i.e. food replicator request, status of an individual, etc. Command and control used programable work areas fixed to the location, i.e. Navigation, Engineering, Science Station, Tactical, etc. They worked much like an iPad, but much larger and fixed. Almost any work area could be reconfigured to support a given function.

I bought a similar one (black) at Pantip last year for about that price. When I got home, I about 25% of the keys were inop. Oh, well. It was a cheap novelty item, any way.
