Another Where To Buy Question...Marine Paints And Other Products

Friends of mine just purchased a large steel ex-dive boat, Im in the process of helping them a bit,...Im looking to find some marine paints, specifically Jotun or International brand. I have seen plenty of Jotun shops around but I am looking for the marine grade stuff. Also some Phosphoric Acid or rust converter such as Galmet brand that can be bought in bulk. Im thinking up the boat lagoon would have stuff. Also Im looking for a hand chipping hammer that welders use. Some thick grinding wheels, and some portable electric wire wheel style buffers.

Thanks in advance

Hey, most of the jotun shops will carry some form of antifouling - if I remember correctly about ฿2500 per tin 5l..... I know rawai hardware has quite a selection of copper based antifouling (including a thai made brand at ฿1300 per tin) and well as other protective coatings and rust protector/remover products.....

There is a great chandlers in Phuket Town called GC Huat http://wikimapia.org/21909439/G-C-Huat they're fantastic for having hard to find bit and pieces in stock and well priced.

There is a chandlers opposite the boat lagoon called 'surrapol' or something like that, that again have a good selection but at inflated prices and yet another inside the boat lagoon that again have a large selection of products including aluminium safe antifouling but again at inflated prices.....(inflated in the sense that any thing for a boat is expensive?!)

Grinding wheels you will find at any good hardware store or homepro and for you wire wheels what about using one designed for a drill? Again any good hardware shop should have these

There is a shop in Phuket Town, a couple of blocks from Robinson's (going towards the market, and the next block to Motor Cycle World - MCW) that stock specifically marine paints, including International. They have a large sign advertising SKF bearings.

Home Mart on Chao Fa East or the Jotun shop on the airport road where I have bought the two part marine paint previously. I have also bought marine grade silcone from the shop mentioned by walker.

Also a new marine supply shop as you head East from the Heroines Monument (pointing towards Paaklok) on the left about 250 meters from the monument. Not sure what all they carry but sure they have something along those lines or can point you to where they may be available. I see while driving by, lots of 5 gallon cans of coverings.
