Short Term Rent

Featured Replies

Hi,will be soon in Chiang Mai for two months, wondering if its possible to rent small furnished house for this period or is it too short term? Exact location not so important, will rent bike also.

Try “Chiang Mai Community Classifieds” which has several sub-lets some with veh or m/c: [To subscribe send an email to [email protected]]

This caters to the missionaries who come and go; in my opinion rents are often expensive, and the asking price for used furniture is on the hi side, especially electronics. But there just may be that gem that appeals to you. unsure.png

What's your budget? Short-term rentals would be a lot more per month than on a yearly contract.

Anyway, how soon is 'soon', and should the house contain a proper kitchen (potentially fully decked out with kitchen utensils) ?

And fully furnished, would that include bedding, towels, etc? (i.e. hotel or serviced apartment style) ?

Anything is available for a price here.

I think that the OP doesn't realize that renting a house for a short term involves a lot of upkeep and involvement from the owner, and many owners want to keep their rentals as simple as possible and rent out on the longer term. My suggestion is to go to some of the better known real estate agents who deal with westerners (Chiang Mai Properties) and ask them what they could come up with.

I wouldn't recommend an agency for only 2 months. Their focus is on longterm rentals. You have to go through a lot of hassle (paperwork and different employees) and it takes more time than when you'd rent a serviced apartment or sublet a house. And unlike what you hear: the agency charge you more than when you'd rent directly from the owner/ apartment building.

Try jingjoke's suggestion.

And if you'd mention your budget (and other specs) I may have suggestions for serviced apartments 7-15 k baht per month.

For only 2 months, I'd say: make your self as easy as possible and spend your time on having fun.

Almost no-one wants a very short term tenant in a house. Most a are not comprehensively furnished or equipped and it would likely be too much of a hassle. Short term apartments are do-able though.
