The Killer Sergeant Somchai

Find out which bar he's in, drive up to the front in a car with your mate (driving), get out (car running), walk in the minimum distance necessary, if he's not facing you shout out 'somchai', ignore the six or seven other Thai men who look at you inquiringly and take his photo. Get back in the car and drive off. Go and collect your reward from The Sun. He's hardly likely to come out all guns blazing just because somebody has taken his photo.

Why doesn't someone hire a detective to go see if he is still in jail?

Do we know which jail he was send to?

That's why you need the detective. A real detective would know who to call and how to find out where he should be...this should be easy money for a detective...make a few phone calls, go to the jail, take a picture of the suspect...or not...and then collect his/her fee.

Having read about his several antics, you'd have to be fast, Eddie! :o

The tricky bit will be getting him to hold up today's newspaper to show the photo was not taken before he was jailed... :o

Oh come on, that's easy if you think about it....'excuse me mate, can you just hold this for me for a second....', or even better, a card with the date printed on, get yourself a classic mugshot. He who dares and all that.... i hope The Sun pay well for this sort of thing :D

and what if the sun should get a photo of him outside gaol , if he is out on bail pending an appeal , then that is how thai law operates and there is nothing the sun or anyone else can do about it.

there are probably dozens of well connected murderers out pending an appeal.

the british embassy peons and jobsworths wont interfere in the workings of the thai legal system. they are too busy keeping their noses brown anyway.

sad for the families of the victims , but justice is a commodity in short supply here.

this is thailand.

  • 2 years later...

Convicts get set free all the time here, murderers included. The local penal system, as substandard as it already is facilities wise can hardly sustain itself (like in many places in the world, especially with the crime rate steadily increasing and feeding the system). Our work crews are loaded with Royal pardoned (ex)convicts.

They tend to only pardon/release 'nobody's.' I think this year's "December" release class was around 30,000 ex-cons. Warms your heart doesn't it?

'Somebody's' usually get themselves released.

Not too much definite information available I guess. Thanks to poster re. the details given to him during his fishing trip invitation. Hopefully it is true that this scum bag is still inside. Let us not let this drop just in case it gets back to those concerned, so that they never think that it's "ok to let him go" because they think everybody has forgotten what this "lowest of the low" did to that young couple.

Cheers.

:o I Would seriously like to see a McIntyre Undercover ,style journalist in Thailand following up on all these killings involving Police and Hit men in Thailand as well as the Thaksin Anti drugs campaign and Gem Scam and so on and so forth ..It would also be good to find out the reason why ?? Embassies are NOT Highlighting the Dangers of Traveling in SE Asia ..All seems a bit strange to me someone has not done a Docu on this subject but would rather do one on Mail Order Brides ??

I know what you mean, but still think that Thailand is not much worse than anywhere else in the world in terms of having to be careful. However it is these cases of rogue policemen abusing their power that particularly incense me, with this case in particular. :D

It is when those employed to uphold the law turn out to be the most evil of all that really touches a raw nerve. Add to this the sneaking suspicion that because of their position, they might be able to escape justice and it becomes quite intolerable.

I just cannot imagine the anguish that must be felt by the families of this young couple when they think of this animal Somchai. This is why this topic must be kept alive so that it will play its part in making sure this pathetic excuse for a human being never is allowed to think he has got away with it.

He is probaly out and he is probably back on the force now. If he is out on bail he have to work to make a living...

If he is just out on bail or secretly released he will certainly not be hiding or laying low, becuse he has powerful friends and they will help him. Let it be (how hard that is) it does not do you well to dwell on the past when you should look for the future...

Both of the high profile cases involving police shooting tourists were cases where the parties had consumed a lot of alchohol.

Normal police in any country are not trigger happy and if so tend to target their own. In the Pai case there is reason to suspect the victim and the two others had been drinking quite an amount prior to the incident.

As such it is fair to assume there were "words" prior to the shooting.

No thanks! You let it be if you like.
