Visit To Krabi

Featured Replies

During my recent month in LOS, we spent a few days in Krabi staying at a good little hotel in Krabi town right on the river. While this sounds tame (it is!), the room was good and the owners really took care of us well.

The hotel was the Krabi River Hotel on Khongkha Road, which backs up to a very nice little riverside park area. Rooms go for 800-1200 baht (depending on season) and farang breakfast is available (sometimes included in room price). A/C works well, room is clean and they can arrange all tours. We were treated well and I would recommend it. Call 66 75 612321 and ask for Sai Jai if you are interested. Email is [email protected]. Tell them Thu's friend Jim recommended it.

Taxi to Ao Nang is 300-400 baht, river taxi to Railey Beach is 100 baht.

Had a great meal at the Jungle Bar less than 1K walk from the hotel. Apparently this was a going establishment on Phi Phi before the tsunami, but the European owner lost it and his wife and family to that terrible event. He has re-opened in an old house (very nice place) and the food is really great. The fish was excellent with superb sauces, and you have to have the Bananas Foster to top it off!

Hope this helps someone looking for a quiet and fairly cheap Krabi vacation.

Excellent! I am planning to visit there in May, so this really helps.

Thanks!
